A safari is a soul-stirring experience and no visit to South Africa is complete without a safari indulgence. With its fascinating diversity of wildlife and variety of game lodges, South Africa provides a magical setting for an expedition in any of the national parks or private game reserves that you can choose to visit. The Kruger National Park is the flagship of South African national parks and offers unrivalled wildlife. This is big game territory where, if you listen carefully, you may hear a faint roar in this northeast corner of South Africa. The popular private game reserves of Sabi Sands and Singita lie close to Kruger and offer excellent chances to see the Big Five – leopards, lions, rhinoceros, elephants and buffalo. A typical day on safari starts with an early morning tea or coffee followed by a game drive – your opportunity to encounter the Big Five and a host of other animals as well, including zebras, giraffes and many varieties of antelope. Return to the lodge before setting off again on a late afternoon game-viewing experience. Stop in the wilderness for sundowners and snacks before returning to the camp in time for dinner. Dinners are mostly served in an open-air boma with romantic fire-lit settings. We recommend at least a 3 days/2 nights safari for a memorable experience that you will treasure forever.
