WELCOME!!
A HUGE THANK YOU Thanks so much for booking me to photograph your family! Just in case you haven't done this before (or even if you have!) here's just a few hints and tips on what to expect and how to get the most out of your shoot.. WHICH LOCATION SHOULD WE CHOOSE? Somewhere you love and which makes you feel happy and comfortable being there! This could be at home or in your garden, or in the woods or park, or by the seaside. If you have children who aren't yet walking it's usually best to stay at home so they can be free to explore and move around. Or if you live right by some pretty woods or a favourite park we could always combine an at home/out and about shoot in one. WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR? Casual clothes that you feel comfortable in and that show your individual style! So something that's relaxed but that makes you feel your best. Brighter, block colours are great, and black or white aren't out of the question but try to avoid too much of them as they aren't as interesting on camera.
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? You'll be having a great time with your family! We can do something practical like play on the park, have a picnic, build sandcastles, do some painting or crafting if we are at home .. or even just snuggle up with a story. Just some quality family time with me tagging along with a camera.
DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING? 'Props' are always welcome! Favourite items can help to tell the story of your family life at this moment. Things such as bikes, scooters, teddies, toys, books, musical instruments or even just a football, all look great on camera and will be fun to use.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE KIDS PLAY UP? DON'T PANIC! .. sometimes there's just no way of avoiding it. Hopefully we'll be having fun, feeling relaxed and enjoying the time together, but if we need to have a little break or stop for a drink and a snack we can do. There's no pressure to rush it. The loud, moody, messy photos are often the most memorable and show just as much, if not more, character than the happy, smiley ones.
