// CAST from earthenware to raw clay Designing the Museum of Prehistoric Technology for the Experimental Archaeology Centre Torino. The idea of matching a Guest House and a Museum shoot for the strengthening the role of the Park in the wide network of cultural tourism related to archaeology, and in the strategies for local development. The use of raw clay and wood structure is the result of the encounter between the different demands of form and function: actually, this technology is a suggestion of ancient building techniques, improved by innovation and integrated by renewable energy supply devices.

// via Millio, 42 password > sustainability Junior High School. The design of the new school comes from a strict definition of environmental units, virtual space elements, relations between them and the input and output system. This is superimposed on the bioclimatic matrix, the result of a consideration on shadows created by the surrounding buildings at different times of the year and on wind trails. After defining climate resources, existing limits and design requirements, it’s possible to identify those active and passive strategies for thermal control.

// Cabiria torino film centre Renovation of Palazzo del Lavoro area. The basic idea is to create a space for activities related to cinema. The creation of a new focus of interest in the Italy ‘61 area completes business, music, exhibitions and trade fairs at Lingotto and sport shows at Oval and at Palavela. The project’s fil rouge is a new pedestrian walkway: it passes through the building and connects the park, the river Po, the ferry station and the garden in corso Maroncelli. The big park is maintained and redesigned on a square grid, that draws pedestrian paths; this grid originates from Palazzo del Lavoro’s roof. The space inside Pier Luigi Nervi’s building was reorganized around a covered square; it contains several activities: the Torino Film Festival base, a branch of the Museum of Cinema, the Film Restoration Laboratory, the Teatro Nuovo high school, an hotel. A central one-storey core hosts three cinemas and a raised multifunctional plaza, that is equipped with two projection screens used during festivals.

// 1, 2, 3ois et voilà le tronc à surprise Wooden mobil home. Developed by the design team Les Rongeurs. The mobil home is a container made entirely of wood. You can load it onto a truck and move it where you want; by a simple reversal of the four lateral openings before the exclamation «et voila!», the module opens and invites you to discover les surprises contained in its cavity tree. The tronc lends itself to innovatate and replace some objects (metal containers, plastic modules, emergency tents, bungalows) putting them on the market in a sustainable version, characterized by a reduced environmental impact and more comfort for users. http://lesrongeurs.wordpress.com
