The female most likely to be seen in the sports pages will be a horse. Women are disappearing too because flesh is not allowed. As soon as girls accept the size, role and shape of adult women, they begin to disappear.

Stalin Ate My Homework is a funny and perceptive portrait of a family, a city, a country and a continent going through enormous changes. Alexei will also answer audience questions on his dazzling show business career and easy stubborn stain removal.

Founder Bill Ashton OBE began NYJO in 1965, offering aspiring young musicians the opportunity to rehearse, write and gain experience in prestigious live performance at home and abroad, at a time when UK jazz education was in its infancy.

‘heart-wrenching...charming, moving and wry’ Time Out HHHH ‘more than a touch of Brel or even Sondheim, elevates the everyday to the sublime’ Broadway Baby HHHH

The lights soften, the mood settles. An audience waits for that first moment of sound. The Big Band is poised, relaxed, but with eyes anxious for the lead. Then, as if giving body to an echo, the murmured notes of ‘Moonlight Serenade’…and the night, it seems, is suddenly full and timeless.

Simon Egerton delights with his wit, his songs and stories - funny and poignant. A family remembered from a time when cigarette smoke still clouded everything!

This band is living proof that Eastern Europe can also bring good and unique elements to the global village - in spite of history and conditions.

The Faustus triumvirate are three of the leading lights of English folk music: Saul Rose (Waterson:Carthy, Whapweazel), Benji Kirkpatrick (Seth Lakeman Band, Bellowhead) and Paul Sartin (Bellowhead, Belshazzar’s Feast).

From young enthusiasts of Polish roots and natural vibes, to mature mind musicians and conscientious creators. In 2004, Warsaw Village Band won the ‘Best Newcomer Award’ at the prestigious BBC Radio 3 Awards for World Music. That same year, they also won the Broadcasting Union award for the ‘Best Folk Recording’.

Specialising in powerful delivery, faultless harmonies, inspired arrangements and a sprinkling of some of the bawdiest songs in the folk cannon, they are men on a mission to banish all that is pastoral and fey in the delivery of folk music. Their plethora of experience is brought together in a bold and virtuosic display of musicianship – and testosterone!

The Players mark their 90th Anniversary with ‘The Sorcerer’; a lively and humorous take on Gilbert and Sullivan’s light-hearted parody of Donizetti’s opera ‘L’Elisir D’Amore’.

After more than one hundred years of presenting top quality musicals in the city, Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society are proud to present their first play at the Key Studio. And what a play it is!

Mystical moments of magical madness ensue at the engagement party when Dr Daly, the Vicar, unwittingly dispenses this Elixir of Love to the whole village via the brew in his teapot. Suddenly age and position count for nothing; everyone is both attractive and attracted and mismatches mount. It seems no one can escape their unexpected liaisons unless a considerable forfeit is paid – but who will volunteer?

The much loved modern classic, 'Stepping Out' by Richard Harris, takes us back to the leg warmers, Walkmans and politically incorrect gossip of the 1980s. It is a warm, witty and uplifting comedy about the lives and loves of 9 contrasting women... and 1 man who tap their way to glory in the pre X Factor days of Thatcherite England.
