LA FETE FRANGLAIS This year’s festival final weekend has been produced in partnership with ATELIER 231 H Centre National des Art de la Rue H seachange arts as part of the ZEPA2 programme

ZEPA 2 is a continuation of the ZEPA 1 project; which succeeded in implementing a network dedicated to the development of outdoor arts across Southern England and Northern France, thanks to the support of the European cross-border cooperation programme Interreg IVA France(Channel) England and co-financed by the ERDF. For this second phase, running through 2014, seven arts organisations, three in the UK and four in France; will be sharing resources and experience to develop research and university exchange around outdoor arts and contribute to the professional development of emerging outdoor artists. This network will also facilitate artists’ touring across various areas, particularly isolated areas, increasing interactions between artists and communities through the organisation of Anglo-French artistic events. Vivacity is proud to be a member of the ZEPA2 European partnership, which enables the Peterborough Arts Festival to work with other international festivals to bring the best Street Theatre in Europe to the city. In this mime and burlesque show, la Compagnie du Petit Monsieur continues its exploration of modern times. And what would Pandora’s Box contain nowadays if not one of these new objects which have invaded our daily lives?

Ernest feels like stranger in his own planet, but he is not a person to mope, he likes to invent things. He hatches a plan to build the fantastic machine of his dreams and present it into a contest. With the help of friends, Luce and Vivette, they start to collect junk and begin the construction...the machine is born, a machine that can be used to perform spectacular tricks. Be prepared to be amazed!

Cathedral Gateway (3) Circo Rum Ba Ba are a wellestablished, highly experienced women’s circus theatre company which fuses spectacular theatre with a diverse range of circus skills and absurdity. The company is well known for its elaborate, colourful costumes and painstaking attention to detail. L' Hotel has parked ceremoniously at its latest destination.......The only hotel to come to you! The "smallest hotel in the world” is shrouded but watch as it comes alive: beds are made, tables laid, chamber maids roused, bell boys leap into action and finally the special guests arrive and are ushered up the red carpet to their luxury accommodation.

Technologically brilliant, incredibly practical and hilarious. Paul Durand, still restricted in his tight suit, just can’t resist looking in that box again and will learn it at his expense while causing complete mayhem!

Three characters, three personalities and a machine to bring them together; where acrobatics, juggling and mechanics are all rolled into one.

H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H

Watch amazed as this charming, eccentric, tiny venue erupts into glittering cabaret, dances into dream filled slumber and wakes to clattering kitchen choreography. Acrobatics, globe walking, dead celebrities, French finesse, trumpeting and mime mayhem make this an enchanting show to delight an audience of any age or nationality.

With its spectacular combination of magical world, physical theatre, circus skills and extraordinary costumes, the Insect Circus always provides old-fashioned circus glamour without parallel. This year they present to La Fête Franglais Sybil, the only Oriental performing snail in the Occident! In journeying here, this extraordinary animal was forty days crossing the hinterland of France and is the first of its kind ever to pass through that country alive. Standing seven feet tall, it is remarkable for its immense size and its gentle docility. Fascinating for all the family, weirdly funny and completely crazy!

The Lift is a roving theatrical experience that envelops its audience, welcoming them into a world of captured moments, giving them a surreal experience that they won't forget. An elegant elevator (on wheels) arrives accompanied by three bellhops. The audience are invited to step inside and choose a moment by selecting one of ten different ‘floor’ buttons. Each button triggers a particular scene or event which is performed for both the audience member in The Lift and those on the outside looking in!

Based in 1942, London Transport Clippies from the 601 trolleybus service are having lunch between shifts. Their imaginations go on a physical journey exploring and transforming the space and their relationship. The piece brings to light the role of the female work force during World War 2, bringing a sense of comradery. It is a lighthearted, family friendly piece and the soundtrack lets your imagination slide back in time with songs from Bing Crosby, Marilyn Duke, Anne Shelton, Marion Hutton and Tex Beneke.

Who would order a withered plant in the last phase of dehydration, a pre-war alarm clock or an already bitten apple? And how would the delivery boy react when he realized he had been stood up in front of everyone? What if he then decided to have fun with the audience with the help of his old tape recorder? BOB, Delivery of all kinds, is a mime show combining drama and magic, oscillating between clowning, poetry and humour sometimes black humour.

Screened Live from London's West End, this special performance brings multi award-winning Billy Elliot the Musical to the screen for the first time. Follow Billy’s journey as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class in this critically acclaimed musical now seen by over 9.5 million people worldwide.

Write and perform your own Raps and Street Poetry, learn stencil and paint techniques used in Graffiti Art, experiment with digital projection and learn new Street Dance moves, from the basics to a full routine.

Following a sell-out run on Broadway, four and a half years in the West End and on tour, the worldwide sensation Stones in His Pockets returns with Ian McElhinney, the original director at the helm.

Visit vivacity-peterborough.com for more details.

Seen by over 2 million people, don’t miss this hilarious and moving tale of a quiet Irish community turned upside down by the arrival of a Hollywood movie shoot.
