Ader Error is one of the most unique brands to enter the game in the last decade. They create androgynous clothing inspired by the street and art. The brand started in 2014 in Seoul, South Korea, Ader Error is not lead by a creative director, but rather a design collective. Over 40 creators, innovators, and leaders have contributed to the work put out by Ader Error and all anonymous. This cult-favorite brand is know for their quirky silhouettes, interesting prints in the thoughtful imagery that accompanies each release. Every season, the design unit outdoes themselves by constantly innovating and creating collections that evoke feelings. When working, all members of the creative staff work together from design to customer service, because Ader Error never wants to hinder brainstorming in any stages of the innovation process. When they begin designing, they take a main inspiration and work on a story. Form there they work towards marketing and styling that feels new and creative. Stepping into an Ader Error store feels fresh. Due to the lack of gender constraints in the store, visual displays become more than mannequins. The brands logo is “but near missed things”. They focus on basic, simple, aesthetic, color and edit. When they design they design with the idea of FINE in mind, which stands for fun, immediate, new, and easy. The brand does not stop at just the typical store visuals but also offline spaces, art installations, imagery and storytelling. They have created an aesthetic that is so consistent and unique that you can look at something and consider this to be “Ader Error”-ey. We are living in a time and space where people can express the way that they feel and want to in clothing with no regard to gender. And Seoul, which is slowly becoming a fashion capital, is the perfect place to do this. It will be interesting to watch the brand mature into a global leader in fashion, including a introduction for the brand into US and European markets.
