SOLUTION:

STELLA MAXWELL & KRISTEN STEWART FOR THE KOOPLES. For Spring Summer ‘16 Emboss Communications was tasked with a creative brief from The Kooples: to establish a celebrity collaboration concept that would widen the brands appeal and futher diversify the brands image and audience. Having identified same sex couples as a type of ‘Koople’ that the brand had not yet positioned at the forefront of a campaign, we began mapping out current celebrity same sex couples to see who might fit The Kooples design identity. From here, Emboss Communications contacted Stella Maxwell and Kristen Stewart to star in the campaign and through discussion with them and the team at The Kooples, began developing a concept for a capsule collection. Maxwell and Stewart felt that this was a natural next step for them in their fashion careers and their bold, alternative personal styles were welcomed in at The Kooples. The Emboss team worked to develop a press launch event in Paris, where Stewart and Maxwell met, which was a huge success, with many guests purchasing pieces from the collection and heavy national press coverage. Upon release consumers responded well to the campaign imagery online, with an engagement rate of 89% on The Kooples Instagram, and sales increased by 32% on Spring Summer ‘15. The concept also welcomed new group of customers to the brand, of same sex couples who felt they could identify with the brand in a way that hadn’t before. At Emboss Comunications we are proud of our extensive network of contacts and our ability to establish meaningful relationships between brands and creatives that result in impactful collaborations. Even more so, we are proud to give LGBT individuals a rare visual campaign that they feel they can positively identify with.

SOLUTION: LETTERS & OTHER STORIES.

For Spring Summer ‘17 Emboss Communications was tasked with a creative brief from & Other Stories: to create and excecute a campaign strategy that would clarify the brands identity and reengage consumers. Taking a slow marketing approach, the Emboss team proposed to center the SS17 collection aound real & Other Stories customers. Women were asked to write to the brand about themselves or a woman they know who inspires them. This would re-inforce & Other Stories core value of encouraging women to empower themselves and eachother for being who they are. The lost art of letter writing charmed consumers and soon the head office was inundated with emotional and personal stories about how these women grew into the people they are today. The un-traditional campaign was balanced with the introduction of 10 brand ambassadors and a brand magazine, which served to launch the campiagn and further re-inforce the brands message to consumers. Emboss Communications also produced a promotional film for the campaign which earned over 600,000 views in the first month. The collection was a massive success, with each of the four part collection focussing on a different type of woman, inspired by four of the letters received. As a result of the campaign, despite the slow marketing approach, the & Other Stories Instagram account gained over 11,000 followers in two months and sales for the collection were hugely successful. This was a really meaningful project to work on as the teams at Emboss and & Other Stories were truly touched by all the letters received. It reminded us all once again that a brands audience are not just consumers but real people with real stories to tell.
