Ks3 About Throughout KS3 students studying History will be encourage to develop their knowledge of different historical periods in a chronological progression. The curriculum covers the main key themes of political, religious, social, cultural and economic change as a context for students’ understanding of the past. In developing this knowledge they will be expected to develop and use the following key skills: Evaluation of different types of historical sources through the key ideas of content, context and purpose The ability to communicate historical knowledge and understanding of the past in a precise, analytical manner usually in the format of an essay Assessment Arrangements At Keystage formal assessments in each year group are made up of the following: Summary essays based around a topic Source evaluation completed as an in-class test Annual exam. Students will also receive regular homework and feedback from teachers on their progress being made.
