Project Overview In May 2013 , Active Youth Africa became the implementing Organisation of the Developing Leaders Intiative of AIESEC , the aim of the intiative was to equip student leaders and young people in selected insitutions of rural and Urban areas of Iganga district for 6 weeks. The project was implemented with support from AIESEC International Exchnage participants from Germany , Canada and the Netherlands. The Intiative also launched the Developing Leaders day to create a forum of discussion on the perspectives of youth leadership and the way forward.

ACHIEVEMENTS TODATE •
In May 2013, Active Youth Africa was approved as an implementing organization for the developing leaders’ project of AIESEC in Uganda.
•
Active Youth Africa with support from AIESEC exchange participants has trained student leaders in 7 secondary schools in Iganga district.
•
More than 600 student leaders in selected secondary schools in Iganga District including out of school youths have attained skills and competence building in responsible leadership and active youth citizenship.
•
On 24th, August, Active Youth Africa organized and held the first youth leadership conference with the theme of Youth Leadership - the way forward.
•
More than 130 Students , leaders and Young people attended the Youth Leadership Conference
•
Facilitated a forum of experience sharing between Ugandan students and International students from Netherlands, Canada and Germany.
•
Upon request from the Vice Chancellor of Busoga University , intentions to establish an AIESEC local Chapter at Busoga University have been started and this will be the first local chapter in the eastern region of Uganda.
