Emmy Blumen

Through my Work I seek to show a reflection of my very own essence of a Mexican and Mestiza Woman. In my Pieces I portray scenes, minutes in time as film directors; melodies, seconds filled with passion as jazz musicians. Through my images I intend to evoke feelings, ideas, passions, music, memories, contradictions. Influenced by such diverse artists as Andy Warhol, Lou Reed, Cindy Sherman, Elizabeth Peyton, Frida Kahlo, David Bowie, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, in my work I seek to mix the inner life with the real life, the dreams with the rawness of everyday life.
