Evelina Molina, Co-founder of the North Bay Institute of Green Technology, has over a decade of experience as a leader, visionary and community organizer specializing in innovative workforce advocacy and development for migrant economic refugee communities. She is the 2009 recipient of the Trailblazer Award from the Leadership Institute For Ecology and Economy and is a 2007 Fellow of that Institute. Evelina has been a lead coordinator for many successful community groups and mobilizations such as the 2006 and 2007 May 1st marches in Santa Rosa; A.L.M.A. of Windsor (Alliance of Mothers Active for Justice) and the First Annual Earth Day “Hearts & Hands Greening Communities” celebration in Roseland. She is a 2002 recipient of the prestigious San Francisco Foundations' Koshland Civic Unity Award which recognizes, "Bay Area grassroots risk-takers, those social innovators of bold spirit who accept the most stubborn neighborhood problems as a personal challenge and who work collaboratively to overcome them.” She is a contributing reporter on the KPFA news magazine "Flashpoints" and serves on the board of directors for The North Bay Institute of Green Technology, The Santa Rosa Community Media Center and the Peace and Justice Center of Sonoma County.
Kevin Danaher, PhD, Co-Founder of Green Festivals and Global Exchange, has been described by The New York Times as the "Paul Revere of globalization's woes." He speaks on issues ranging from the global economy to how we can replace the power of transnational corporations with local green economy networks. A longtime critic of the so-called "free trade" agenda, Kevin explains how we can create 'grassroots globalization', empowering local communities to create sustainable local economies. He has published numerous articles and is the author and/or editor of thirteen books, including his two latest: The Green Festival Reader: Fresh Ideas from Agents of Change and Building the Green Economy: Success Stories from the Grass Roots (PoliPointPress).
Sean Holt, Founder and Managing Partner of Om Ventures, advises trailblazing organizations from across public, private and citizen sectors on strategy and fund raising for social value creation. In 2009, along with several other firms, Om Ventures was hired by the U.S. State Dept under the Obama Administration to improve public-private sector collaboration on low carbon growth and climate adaptation in developing economies. In addition to his work with global policy and programs impacting Copenhagen, Sean has been highly involved with local efforts to address climate change and accelerate green economy development, having recently launched the Green Jobs Coalition with his 2010 Fellow candidates at the Leadership Institute for Ecology and Economy.
Norman Solom on is national co-chair of the Healthcare Not W arfare campaign. He wrote the weekly "Media Beat" column from 1992 to 2009, and is the author of many award-winning books and essays. Norman's book "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death" was published in 2005 and made into an award-winning documentary by the same name in 2007. His latest book is "Made Love, Got War: Close Encounters with America's Warfare State" (2007). Norman is the founder and executive director of the Institute for Public Accuracy, a national consortium of policy researchers and analysts. He has appeared as a guest on many media outlets including the PBS “NewsHour With Jim Lehrer,” CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, C-SPAN, public radio’s “Marketplace,” and NPR’s “All Things Considered,” “Morning Edition” and “Talk of the Nation.”
