extra time to help with planet we call home. One opportunity is held at Jonathan Dickinson State Park with an Exotic Plan Removal Project and “Go Native” hike. Exotic animals and plants pose a serious threat to native flora and fauna. Many outcompete native plants for space and nutrients which can lead to endangerment or extinction of beautiful nature. In order to ensure native plants will be around for our children’s children, park rangers and volunteers band together for one day a year to remove exotic plants from the park. Plant removal will begin at 10am. A free guided nature walk will begin at 1pm for all volunteers. Park entrée fee will be waived for all registered participants.
