Events & Happenings Sunfest April 30-May 4th Sunfest is back and kicking with another list of Performers ready for the largest music festival in Palm Beach County. Celebrating its 31st year, this one of a kind music festival will be rocking day and night in Downtown West Palm Beach on the Waterfront. Sunfest is a music festival where three stages all host big and small name artists from all over the world. This year’s lineup is featuring Cake, Sublime with Rome, and Pretty Lights. There will be Kid Rock, Ellie Goulding, the Goo Goo Dolls, and many more all performing throughout this five day event. Don’t forget to also visit the BB&T art show in the middle of the festival which will feature over 140 of the nation’s artists. Price are based on a pass value. Advanced ticket sales will be April 13 until April 26, 2014. 1 Day passes are $30 advanced, $39 regular, 2 Day passes are $46 advanced, $56 regular. 5 Day passes are $61 advance and $71 regular. This race will be held at a new location this year at Ocean Cay Park. This fast run is a 3.1 mile race along the beach in
Jupiter Florida. Enjoy food before and after the race with your friends, families, and supporters as these local shops come out to support the race: Annie’s Italian ice, Brooklyn Water Bagels, and Berry Fresh CafÊ. Firefighters to the rescue will also be providing pancakes as well as selling t shirts to raise money for their cause. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of all races. Races will be divided into different age groups as well as genders. There will be a kid friendly race for children under 11. Kids will race with the Fireman for one mile down the beach with a participation medal and t-shirt given to all racers: Prices vary per age: Adults -$30. Students and seniors- $25 pre-registration, $30 at the door. Children- $10 pre-registration, $15 at the door. Volunteers are also needed. Event may be used for certain community service hours. Care to visit a real ghost? Come to the village of yesteryear at the South Florida Fairground. Yesteryear is a historical Village preserved on 10 acres. The village displays historic houses, a farm, and articles from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Rumors have spread that on dark nights, ghosts visit this village from years gone by. Paranormal experts have studied yesteryear and even recorded the abnormal activities from the Riddle house and other sites in the village. Tours run year around on Friday nights. Take your chance on Friday Mary 2 from 8:00pm-10pm for this spooky event. Come one and all to celebrate this Latino event while touring the beautiful Center of the Arts. The Hispano-Latino Cultural Alliance is pleased to present local Hispanic culture in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Hispanic based bands, Mariachi bands, dances, arts and crafts, games, and more will be present for this auspicious event! All happenings will be held in the Outdoor Pavilion and grounds of the center. The Delray Beach Center for the Arts incorporates 5 buildings including the Cornell Museum of the Art and American Culture. This center plays hosts to a variety of events. Broadway shows, musicals,
musicians, artists, and even lectures are held in their gorgeous Crest Theater. The Cinco de Mayo celebration will begin at 11am and will last till midnight on Saturday May 3rd.
