Events & Happenings Turtle Walk June & July 2014
It is that time again! Turtles are making their way to the South Florida Beaches for their annual nesting times. Loggerhead sea turtles are the most popular turtle to nest on the shores of Boca Raton. Dozens of turtles throughout the Month of June and July journey to the beach where they dig out a nest for their hundreds of eggs to sit until the babies are ready to make their way back to the sea. Gumbo Limbo, a nature center in Boca Raton, offers guided turtle walks to the public where you will
be educated on these amazing creatures as well as given the opportunity to walk the beach in search of a nesting mother. While walking, the guide will teach you about the beach ecology to enhance your serene moon lite stroll. Sightings are not guaranteed however extremely likely. Call ahead are a must. Tickets are $17 for person. This is not a up close encounter where touching is permitted. Free Movie Night in Wellington June 6th 2014 Throughout the Month of June Wellington present Free Movie Nights! Every FridayWellington Amphitheater will be playing free movies on the green with a strict bring your own seating policy. These movies are all family friendly and made for your fascinated eyes to see. Movies will be played at the Amphitheater at 8:30pm. 12100 Forest hill Boulevard. Classic Car Cruise-In June 7th 2014 The streets of Abacoa are going to be filled with this classic car event come June 7, 2014. For the car guy in you, this events plays hosts to all makes and models of vehicles and is presented by PBC Classic Car Shows. The cars will roll into the streets at 4pm, taking over this small towns downtown area. Events will go from5- 8:30pm. Music from live bands can be heard from the amphitheater as you peruse this extravagant set of muscle, vintage, classic, and race cars. Want to showcase your baby? Entrance fees for vehicles is $5. Public viewing is free. For more information, please visit their website here! Legacy Place Cruise In June 7th 2014 Just down the road, legacy place hosts a similar event for the car enthusiast. The Legacy Place “Cruise In” is a classic or custom car show that benefits the Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation. Car entrance donation is $5 and again is free to the public. Start off at Abacoa and then make your way to legacy to enjoy this second car event of the weekend. After you peruse the cars, get a bite to eat at the 9 restaurants located in legacy place or shop the stores. Thus far over $30,000 has been raised for the hospice.
