U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors September 12 2014 The Delray Beach Center for the Arts is presenting the critically acclaimed US Army Jazz band! This ensemble began in 1969 and has toured not only nationally, but internationally as well. Their skill is the best of the best, bringing America’s original art, jazz. Playing a wide variety of jazz music, this concert will have favorites of everyone. Originating after World War 2, this band was formed to boost support for American troops. The original


concert tickets were at a cost of one war bond. Gaining popularity, the band raising 1 million dollars in support. As time went on, General Jacob Devers saw how important it was for the army to maintain a relationship with the people. He then created a permanent band to tour America that would raise support and awareness while building the needed relationship. To this day, the band tours (now for free) to keep the connection going. This band has toured all fifty states, Europe, Canada, Japan, and more and is coming to South Florida for one night! Sushi and Stroll Friday September 12, 2014 Bring out your inner Japanese with the Morikami Museum Sushi and Stroll event! This event offers admission into the phenomenal Japanese gardens at the museum. Stroll through the landscape while you soak in the breathtaking scenery If you start to get hungry, meander over to the Cornell CafÊ that offers a wide variety of Pan Asian cuisine for your taste buds to enjoy. Once your belly is full, head over to the Fushu Daiko demonstration with South Florida’s original taiko drumming group! Tickets are limited and an extra $2 charge. Jeff Anna’s Memorial Firefighter 5k Run

Saturday September 13, 2014 Everyday amongst us, there are our unsung heroes living life. Our armed forces, police officers, and firemen work hard to keep our country safe and alive. Many receive little to no recognition. This event bring you’re an opportunity to show your support to some of these heroes- our firemen and women. This 5k race is raising money to benefit the firefighters paramedics benevolent fund, Little Smiles of Florida, as well as Waterfront Warriors. All three organizations work towards helping our local community through scholarships and charity for those in need. This event is going to include all of your favorites: food, teams, children’s race, music, vendors, and even a children day care to allow parents to run the race without worries. Safari Nights: Pajama Party!

Saturday September 13, 2014 Come see the wilder side of recovery at the Palm Beach Zoo’s Safari Night. Complete with animal training sessions and talks with the employees, it’s going to be a ROARING good time!
