FIT TIP OF THE WEEK Today is Leg Day! Emporia, guess what day it is! Today is leg day!!! The day(s) of the week when you work on improving and exercising your legs. This is everyone’s favorite day of the week, right? Well, it should be, and here is why: • Build more muscle and burn more fat with larger muscle groups! Think about it, when you work your lower body, you tend to exert more energy. In other words, you work harder. Your heart has to pump blood quickly to body parts that are further away. This causes you to burn more calories and Increases your metabolism. increasing metabolism allows you to burn more fat efficiently. • No “Chicken Legs.” Have you ever been in the gym and seen a guy with a huge upper body and tiny legs? This is what is known as having “chicken legs” and it throws off your body’s composition and symmetrical proportion. • A strong base helps you perform better in everyday living. Training your lower body helps your body’s form and balance, thus giving you the ability to perform everyday tasks more effectively. • Increase Testosterone in men. Guys, studies show us that when men perform more leg exercises, we see an increase in testosterone and the ability to create more. • My favorite is, it gives me mental discipline. Make sure you train your legs this week and don’t forget to stretch!
