Emporia home sales remained at 31 units in April compared to the prior year. Total sales volume was $4.4 million, up from a year earlier. All home sales in April were existing homes. No new construction sales were recorded. The median sale price of existing homes was $140,000. This represents an increase of 43% from the April 2019 median price of $97,900. A total of 36 contracts were written in April 2020, down from 59 in April 2019, a decrease of 39% over April 2019. The inventory of active listings in the Emporia market area stood at 102 units at the end of April, which is down from 109 active listings at the end of April last year. At the current rate of sales, this figure represents 2.7 months' supply of homes on the market. Sunflower Association of REALTORSÂŽ Releases Lyon County Home Sales Figures for April 2020 Total home sales in Lyon Co. rose by 12.5% compared to the prior year. Sales in April 2020 totaled 27units, up from 24 in 2019. Total sales volume was $3.9 million, up 63.9% from a year earlier. Among existing homes, 27 units were
sold in April, an increase of 12.5% from 24 units in 2019. The median sale price of existing homes was $149,000. This represents an increase of 59% from the 2019 median price of $93,700. A total of 34 contracts for sale were written April, a decrease from 52 last year. Pending contracts in April stood at 56, down from 68 at the same time last year. Pending contracts reflect, in part, sales that will close soon. The inventory of active listings in Lyon County stood at 70 units at the end of April, which is up from 65 active listings on the market at the end of April last year. At the current rate of sales, this figure represents 2.2 months’ supply of homes on the market.
