Welcome to Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in North Cyprus! Founded in 1979, Eastern Mediterranean University is the oldest and only state university in North Cyprus which is dynamic and rapidly growing institution following universal trends in undergraduate and graduate education. The University has more than 20000 students from 98 different countries. The academic staff of the university includes 1100 teachers from 35 countries of the world with international experience and a high level of training. EMU offers higher education in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies, carrying out training in the European standard of 95 undergraduate programs, 77 master and doctoral programs provided by 11 faculties and it also has 6 schools. Eastern Mediterranean University programs have unique accreditations from prestigious independent organisations such as ABET, MIAK, FIBAA, AQAS, TEDQUAL, ASIIN, EDEXCEL, ATLAS, LCCI, EFMD, AACSB. Eastern Mediterranean University is a scientific, cultural and educational center of Northern Cyprus. It is internationally recognized and takes a worthy place in the world. Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School gives new students the opportunity to improve their English language skills before starting a graduate or master’s degree program. The program covers one semester or an academic year and at the end of the program, students receive an international Edexcel certificate. Eastern Mediterranean University has a special scholarship award for prospective students. The scholarship covers up to 50% of the tuition fees. Since 2011, master’s students have the unique opportunity to obtain simultaneously two postgraduate diplomas. Eastern Mediterranean University is an official overseas center of the University of Warwick WMG MSc Courses. EMU currently runs the WMG MSc courses in both Engineering Business Management, Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Students studying at the EMU Centre are fully registered as Warwick WMG students, and are awarded exactly the same degree as students studying in the UK. International Summer School Every year, Eastern Mediterranean University International Summer School runs a full range of courses and extra afternoon clubs to help increase language skills. The courses are offered in the university’s campus located 5 minutes from the beach and the activities usually take place in the EMU’s recreational complex located on its private beach. For new students, we organize an orientation program that includes an introductory presentation followed by a campus tour. Also on the first day of stay in Cyprus the students are able to complete the registration for-
malities and take a proficiency test to check the level of knowledge of the English language if they do not have an English qualification. The International Summer School offers courses of English for different age groups and levels. According to preliminary applications and the formation a group of 15 people, our university is organizing special courses of varying thematic focus. At the end of each program, students have the unique opportunity to receive an international EDEXCEL certificate. Upon request, EMU also offers various courses in other field.

Transportation
Our assistants, well noticeable by their smile and the welcoming banners they hold, will meet all International Summer School participants at the exit door of the Ercan Airport of North Cyprus in Lefkosha/Nicosia. The pick-up services from / to the airport are free of charge for participants who arrive/leave up to 2 days before/after the commencement date of their program. We also help organize pick-ups for those who wish to travel through Larnaca Airport. Both airports are only 40 minute drive from the University’s campus. Turkish Airlines is the Official Airline of the EMU International Summer School and offers a special discounted rate of 5% to 10% for international participants during its program’s period.

We have a wide variety of dormitories which are fully equipped with state of the art technology. Cultural and sporting facilities are offered under campus safety. The dormitories consist of two to four beds which makes it a great place to meet and socialize with students from different countries.

Activities
Each day the summer school has its uniqueness and diversity. Participants will enjoy a wide range entertainment, based on their interests. Events of the International Summer School are intensively supervised by our assistants who strictly follow safety regulations. The university’s recreational private beach (EMU Beach Club) is located at one of the best beaches of not only Famagusta, but for the whole of Northern Cyprus. The Beach club is equipped with excellent infrastructure, Wi-Fi, a diving school, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a cocktail bar and a cafe. Activities and entertainment programs of the International Summer School are divided into activities included in the program and extra activities.

The program and the cost of the International Summer School includes three meals a day. The menu consists of the best of Mediterranean cuisine with a taste of foreign gustatory habits. There are lots of cafes and restaurants on university campus as well.

The Class A dormitories rooms designed to accommodate up to 4 people per room. The block system offers the convenience of location on campus, the possibility of accommodating groups in each block. Each unit is controlled by point guard and assistants who work on a special schedule during the summer period.

Class B dormitories have rooms that can accommodate up to two people. The buildings are comfortable and have an excellent infrastructure. Dorms are surrounded by a wonderful landscapes and urban furniture.

EMU Guesthouse
EMU Guesthouse is a perfect residential complex for groups that wish to have more privacy. It is suitable for families or for those who want to live more in seclusion. In the apartment the guesthouse can accommodate up to 4 people in two rooms. The apartment has a spacious living room, kitchen, TV, telephone and internet access. For those who wish to extend their stay, daily accommodation fees are as follow: $ 50 - Class A dormitories $ 60 - Class B dormitories $ 70 – EMU Guest House
