Regional Institute for Historic Preservation

Definition: Regional Institute for Historic Preservation, is a center concerned with Preserving of Historical Tangible Archeology and historic building, by Preparing well Trained Staff and technicians who are educated and passionate enough in the Science and Techniques of Preservation (Approaches, Techniques, Equipment) . In order to save the witnesses of the region hisorical timeline.

Site Souf-Jerash Al-Kaied Mansion (Biet AlKayed) Build to be a headquarters for tribal deliberation provisions And it is now owned by Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (Department of Antiquities). Site Area = 6400 m2

1- Why this site? Site selection was made to satisfy the main goals and objectives of the Project; a tangible example of high-quality preservation work.

For its significant heritage value, the existed structure (Beit Al Kayed) is planned to be preserved, renovated and adaptive reused. 2- Preservation Approach> John Ruskin & William Morris (Anti-Restoration Approach) 3- Intervention Style

Dialogue Between Old and New Solid and Void Darkness and light.

Responding to the Void (courtyard) with another Void, without compromising the view of the main Elevation.

Using the Grid of the Existing to creat a module.

lighting elements (and ornaments) from the Elevation are used as ligting elements n the Horizantal Plane.

As-Salt Urban Planning and Design

Phase I

Urban Analysis The town is built in the crook of three hills, close to the Jordan Valley.

As an ancient town, As-Salt was once the most important settlement in the area between the Jordan valley and the eastern desert. Because of its history as an important trading link between the Eastern desert and the West, it was a significant place for the region’s many rulers. Historical Resources

Al Himmeh - North Irbid , The boarders between Jordan and Occupied Joulan Heights Nature and Topography > A Cliff to the Yarmouk river ,contains 2 small waterfalls and 1 Dark cave.
