The Regional Center for Conservation and Restoration RCCR The three frameworks for Jarash Regional Center are; conservation and restoration, training and research. On one hand, this programmatic framework will work to respond to the challenges of the Jordanian antiquities sector in the field of cultural heritage conservation, and to achieve integration with the academic role that the Jordanian universities which offer specialized programs in the fields of conservation and restoration, with lacking an institutional role to take on its shoulders in practical training and rehabilitation tasks. The location of the project was decided to be an adaptive re-use of a heritage governmental building built in 1952 in Jerash city in northern Jordan.

Master’s Thesis

2018-2019

The Design and Evaluation of Protective Shelters for Mosaic Pavements in Madaba as a Conservation and Presentation Strategy - The Prophet Elias Church as a Case Study.

The purpose of this study was to learn from earlier designs and experiences of protective shelters in the Mediterranean region and in Jordan. Taking the area of Madaba as the core of the study, three main case studies were selected comprising the shelter at St. Stephen’s Church Complex in Um er-Rasas, the Memorial of Moses in Mount Nebo and the shelter at the Church of the Prophet Elias in the Madaba Archaeological Park. This has resulted in arriving at recommended solutions regarding one of the selected cases, namely the shelter at the Church of Prophet Elias

Tourism Managment Plan for Qasr al-Abed in Iraq al-Amir Qasr al Abed is the only standing Hillinistic structure in Jordan. While working at the Department of Antiquities, I designed several rehabilitation activities for the site. This was later developed into a Tourism Management Plan that was presented in the 14th International Conference on the History and Archaeology of Jordan (ICHAJ 14) in Florence, Italy in 2019.
