Gym Reservations November 9 - December 22 The Encinitas Community Center is now taking gym reservations for Basketball and Pickleball play! Reservations are required and can be made by calling 760-943-2267. Reservations must be made by 12noon the day prior to your visit. For Monday reservations, calls need to be made by the previous Friday at 12noon. A maximum of one reservation time slot per household per week is permitted and is based on availability. Youth must be accompanied by a guardian.

Face coverings are required at all times even during play. Patrons will be symptom screened upon arrival.

Patrons shall provide staff with their name and phone number that may be used for contact tracing.

Patrons will sign a COVID-19 waiver before allowed to play. Patrons will not be allowed to wait in the lobby area.

Basketball play is for individuals and same household members only (up to five members).

Patrons must always maintain physical distancing between members of different households.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own, already filled, non-glass water bottles. No outside food permitted.

It is recommended that you bring your own equipment.

Your reservation end time is strictly enforced to allow for regular sanitation protocols in between users.

Staff will confirm patron’s requested reservation before they are scheduled to arrive.

Only patrons with a confirmed reservation will be allowed inside the gymnasium.

No amplified music. Earbuds okay.

Important Late Fall Program and Registration Information •

The safety of our program participants is paramount and all necessary precautions will be taken in our fall programs.

Class sizes for programs listed in this brochure are limited so register as soon as possible.

Click course numbers in this brochure to link to more information and to register at www.EncinitasParksandRec.com. No mail in or in person registrations will be accepted. Complete registration and program polices are located on page 9.

Non-residents add $10 to registration fee. A $2.50 processing fee will be added to each Youth & Teen, Adult and Sports program. Senior Citizen non-residents add $3. A $1 processing fee will be added to each Senior program.

Little Groms Surf Camps

Are you ready to have some good old-fashioned camp fun? Seaside Day Camp is ready to provide you with an opportunity to be with your friends, play games, be in nature, ride a bike and have some fun! Plan to spend your fall/winter break with us away from screens and the same daily routines. Great childhood memories are waiting to be made!

(ages 5 - 8) This camp is dedicated to our next generation of surfers and water kids that are just getting ready to hit the ocean. Our focus is ocean safety, surfing, boogie boarding, bodysurfing and swimming in the ocean. We allow kids to progress at their own pace in this camp, not pushing them past their comfort level. Soul Line Dancing

Jazzercise Dance and Strength

(ages 18 and up) Line dancing was never meant to be limited to country western tunes. SOUL line dances are choreographed to R and B, jazz, Latin and many of your favorite Motown tunes. Grab a friend and come give it a try. No partner or experience needed. Secure footwear required, for safety, carpet socks are strongly encouraged. Can order online or see instructor.

(ages 18 and up) Torch fat, sculpt lean muscles and crush calories with a moderate intensity, low impact workout that mixes dancebased cardio with strength training. Fresh pulse-pounding music and body-blasting moves bring the intensity to transform your body, boost your mood and ignite your energy.

Breathe and Flow Yoga (ages 18 and up) In this class, breathe guides the movement as students of all levels learn to move through a series of yoga poses to improve awareness, strength, balance and flexibility while ensuring safety. Registration for online classes can be made by visiting the online registration page.

No mail in or in person

registrations will be accepted. Participants must have capabilities to run Zoom on a

laptop, tablet, home

computer or other device. The City recommends that participants test the Zoom application before registering for classes. The City is not responsible for technology issues participants are having at home. •

The registration deadline for all virtual classes is at 12 noon on the business day before the class start date unless noted in the class description.

Meeting IDs and Passwords for classes will be emailed to

participants by 5pm on the day before the class start date. Those classes with multiple sessions will use the same meeting code and password each week. Staff will be monitoring classes and taking attendance. Those not registered for class will be removed from the class by the

VIRTUAL ADULT ART Watercolor & More (ages 50 and up) Learn the fundamentals of watercolor as you explore and experiment with techniques that are fun and easy to do. All skill levels are welcome. Basic Watercolor Supplies Needed at Home: Brushes: #2, #12 round nylon and #6, 1" foam brush and bristle fan brush. Paper: Canson 9x12, 140lb. watercolor pad. Paint: Prang semi moist watercolors, 16 color box. Tube of white gouache. Water container, paper towels and sea sponge.

For some programs, materials are supplied by the participants and in some cases, materials are mailed to homes or need to be downloaded from a site or email. It is the responsibility of the registrant to read descriptions carefully to ensure you have the materials or equipment needed for your class/program.

VIRTUAL ADULT FITNESS Gentle Yoga

ZUMBA Gold (ages 50 and up)

Start your day off right by practicing Gentle Yoga. This class is personalized for you to explore poses and specific breathing techniques designed to strengthen the lungs and immune system while refreshing your mind and heart. A guided visualization will be included at the end of every class. Equipment: yoga mat, strap, 2 blocks and 1 - 3 blankets. If you do not have equipment, adaptations can be made.

Have you tried Zumba and been overwhelmed? This program is especially designed for the active over 50 group. Latin rhythms inspire moves to exercise the brain, heart, and all the major muscle groups. Accept waiver and pay All activities subject to time/date change. $2.50 non-refundable registration processing fee is included in each course ($1 fee for Senior Center programs).

PROGRAM TRANSFER POLICY: Transfers may be done online up to five (5) calendar days before the start of the program and will not incur any fees if the transfer is to a program of equal or lesser value. Transfers to a program of greater value will include the program fee difference and an additional processing fee. In person transfers may be processed up to five (5) calendar days before the start of the program at the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Offices or the Encinitas Community and Senior Center prior to the first meeting date and will not incur any fees if the transfer is to a program of equal or lesser value. Transfers to a program of greater value will include the program fee difference and an additional processing fee. Transfer requests by phone or by leaving a message will not be considered. Transfer requests made less than five (5) calendar days before the start of the class must be submitted by email to encinitasparksandrec@encinitasca.gov or delivered in writing to the Encinitas City Hall Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts service desk. Transfer requests made less than five (5) business days are date-stamped and reviewed by the Recreation Services Manager.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY: Activities are subject to change. A full refund will be given if the City cancels the activity. Refunds requested five (5) calendar days before the first program meeting date may be granted minus a $10 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for inclement weather. Prorated refunds may be given for a medical reason, based on the number of unattended days. Medical verification is required with a doctor signature and must be submitted no later than five (5) calendar days after the medical incident. Refunds/Cancellations may be done online up to five (5) calendar days before the start of the program and will incur a $10 cancellation fee. If the program fee is less than the $10 cancellation fee,no refund is available. Refund requests made less than five (5) calendar days before the start of the class must be submitted by email to encinitasparksandrec@ encinitasca.gov or delivered in writing to the Encinitas City Hall Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts service desk. Refund requests made less than five (5) calendar days are date-stamped and reviewed by the Recreation Services Manager. Submission of request does not guarantee approval. * The City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department reserves the right to adjust the transfer/refund policy depending upon the circumstances and the severity of the situation.

WAITING LIST POLICY: Those on the waiting list that receive notification by phone or email that a spot has opened; have until 5:00pm the next City business day to secure registration. You may confirm your registration by calling (760) 633-2740 or (760) 943-2260 to talk to a live customer service representative or by visiting the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department office at the Encinitas Civic Center. Voicemails will not be accepted and do not confirm registration.
