Energy Awareness Training 101 with Eneractive Solutions

With energy budgets now extremely tight, facility managers must justify every penny they spend on energy. With that thought in mind, Eneractive is recommending employee Energy Awareness Training as a smart low cost option to reduce energy usage. Energy Awareness Training is one of the best methods you can incorporate into your facility training program to provide immediate results. The investment provides a quick payback with a long term energy saving outcome. It’s a fact that many employees take energy for granted and most are unaware of the many opportunities to save. It has been shown that most employees are in favor of energy efficiency; however, they often don’t follow through when it comes to changing their own behaviors. With the high cost of energy and expected future increases, there has never been a better time to champion an energy awareness cause. An employee Energy Awareness Training program should be custom developed on your facility use and type and is most effective when implemented by an experienced outside energy consultant. The energy consultant is often viewed in a non bias way and any internal barriers between the employee and management are quickly removed allowing total team participation. Energy Awareness Training is a true partnership for all because it can help align the goals and objectives of management with those of the employee. In addition, with more companies focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability, it is the right thing to do. The Eneractive Solutions energy team has been providing Energy Awareness Training programs for a variety of facilities throughout the United States and abroad. We have found it to be an effective low cost critical first step in reducing energy usage. To learn more about the program contact Jim Nagle directly, at Eneractive Solutions on 856-237-7505.

RMI Event Recap Over 250 manufacturing stakeholders came together at the Regional Manufacturing Institute of Maryland (RMI) Energy Forum in Timonium, Maryland on June 3rd 2014 to learn about RMI’s new energy efficiency program. The program which was launched last fall from a 3 million dollar state grant heard directly from 12 companies in the first phase of the program. The event was hosted by RMI in partnership with the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership, and featured an address by Governor Martin O’Malley, and MEA Director Abigail Hopper. The event included an executive panel discussion, town hall meeting and networking. Eneractive Solutions is proud to be the energy engineering consulting company contracted by RMI to provide comprehensive energy saving audits and implementation oversight for the manufacturers in the program. Each manufacturer involved agrees to commit to the six-month RMI program worth $30,000 in free consulting services including development of employee self-directed green teams. To support the audit recommendations the manufacturers in the program can rely on Eneractive Solutions energy team to help them identify and take advantage of additional financial incentive rebates offered by Maryland’s BGE Electric Utility Company. Governor Martin O’Malley of Maryland

The audience at the event heard from the top leadership of twelve featured companies in the RMI program who had an Eneractive Solutions energy saving audit performed and are now in the process of implementing the recommendations that meet the companies ROI threshold.

“We are very pleased with the overall progress of the program,” said Mike Galiazzo, President of RMI. As manufacturing continues to grow and change in the state of Maryland, it is a pivotal time for the industry to focus on innovation and to become more energy efficient. Overall, we have seen Maryland manufacturers greatly reduce their energy spending, which in turn can lead to the creation of more jobs, improvement in productivity, better bottom lines and much more.” The RMI program is currently recruiting manufacturers for its fourth group of six companies, which is forming now. Companies wishing to enroll in the program can go to the RMI web site (Energy Solutions Center) http:// rmienergysolutions.com/ or you can call Jim Nagle at Eneractive Solutions directly on 856-237-7505.
