ENERActive Eye On
REDUCING ENERGY COSTS
In Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional Facilities
I
f your business is in the BGE Utility Company service territory, investing in energy conservation and efficiency has become a whole lot better for you. As an approved BGE Retro-commissioning Program Service Provider, our team can help you obtain lucrative financial incentives to help improve the energy efficiency of your building, through the RCx process. Retro-Commissioning (Rx) is a systematic documented process that identifies low cost & no cost operational and maintenance improvements in existing buildings and brings them back to their designed intentions. Typical energy savings can range from 5% to 15% without significant capital investment. According to the US Department of Energy (DOE), Retro-commissioning efforts have reported simple payback periods of less than 2 years, with ,any less than 0.5 years. Eneractive Solutions’ team of energy efficiency experts and engineers are ready now to get you started to better optimize your facility so you can receive the maximum benefits under this new program. BGE’s new RCx program provides qualified candidates with financial incentives up to $30,000. In addition to the RCx program, BGE offers a wide range of financial incentives for prescriptive improvements, custom measures, operations and maintenance enhancements.
Typical signs that your facility may be a good candidate for Retro-Commissioning: • • • • • • • •
Unexplained increases in our facility energy cost and usage Continuous cycling of energy equipment and occupant comfort complaints Poor indoor air quality/inefficient simultaneous heating and cooling Changes in facility energy operating systems that, were not verified or documented Humidity issues & larger temperature delta or life of chilled water Portable space heaters under the desks & hot and cold comfort complaints Loud noise coming from heating & cooling vents HVAC controls not responding to building management system commands
To schedule an appointment or to learn about other BGE incentive programs call Jim Nagle directly at Eneractive Solutions at (856) 237-7505 or at jnagle@eneractivesolutions.com The Solution | Quarterly | October | 1

Stocks in the West Region were 14 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 6 Bcf. At 3,538 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.

Energy Procurement NATURAL GAS Market Report Gas is cheap and temperatures have cooled. Generation demand was off sharply for the reported week, to a level lower than we’ve seen since early June, and thus we were expecting a large Market Report injection number.
ELECTRICITY
Power curves across the country responded to the weak demand environment and sold off sharply for most of the week. The NEMASS zonal Around The Clock curve dropped more than $3/MWhr for the rolling 12-month strip. The 24-month term fell $2.20 and the calendar 2016 strip dropped $2.75. The NYISO Zone J curve also had a down week, with the Around The Clock curve dropping $2.70 for the rolling 12- month strip, $1.50 for the 24-month term and $2.30 for the calendar 2016 strip. The PEPCO load zone (serving DC and part of MD) experienced a similar trend, with the Around The Clock finishing $1.70 lower for the 12-month term. The 24-month Around The Clock strip fell $1.40 and the calendar 2016 lost $1.70.
We’re in a soft demand season with very little in the way of bullish fundamentals until cooler weather comes in, which likely won’t be until November as meteorologists are calling for an October slightly warmer than average. This could put overall inventory at the end of October near record levels, near 4 Tcf, which would certainly temper winter supply concerns. The October natural gas contract was at $2.56 going into the report, down $.10 from last Thursday, and has given away another $.02 since the report. We’re likely in a new lower range of $2.50-$2.60 here, but I haven’t seen a hard line support number posted yet.

Spotlight On LOCAL LAW 87...
...Don’t let looming deadlines scare you off! Local Law 87 was instituted in 2009 under Mayor Bloomberg’s Administration. The legislation mandates that all New York City buildings larger than 50,000 square feet undergo energy audit and retro-
commissioning measures every 10 years as a means of addressing energy performance and making both cost-effective and energy-efficient improvements. The legislation was mandated as part of Bloomberg’s Greener Greater Buildings Plan (GGBP) in order to help ensure building sustainability for years to come.

Empoweractive OUR BENEFICIARIES: In October 2011, Eneractive hosted its first philanthropic event. This event, a wine tasting at two local Asbury Park art galleries, raised over $11,000 for The Painted Turtle Camp. The money that was raised was used to send several children to The Painted Turtle Camp, a camp for seriously ill children.
Since the creation of Empoweractive in 2012, we have been able to raise over
$300,000
to benefit various charities Eneractive Solutions hosted its second philanthropic event in June 2012. The Beer Tasting Fundraiser to benefit Youth Consultation Service (YCS), was held at Triumph Brewery. Since 1918, YCS has brought life- changing success to New Jersey’s most vulnerable children. YCS offers therapy, shelter and hope to children (birth-25) in its special education schools, autism centers, foster care, therapeutic residences, homes for the developmentally disabled and community based services. One More Tri is an annual event hosted by Empoweractive on the Asbury Park Boardwalk at the end of triathlon season. Stemming from a shared commitment to community service and a collective passion for health and wellness, a vision of creating the first ever triathlon to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) became a reality on September 23, 2012. Due to our various initiatives with SONJ throughout the years, Eneractive Solutions has been named a Platinum Sponsor for SONJ. The inaugural EMPOWERACTIVE 2015 – Transforming Healthcare into the Future – Conference and Tradeshow was an unprecedented, unparalleled, philanthropic energy and healthcare education event. For three days, the energy and healthcare communities united at the Tropicana Casino & Resort in Atlantic City, NJ to educate and revitalize the healthcare environment, culture, efficiency, & performance.
