Mallorca: a paradise with outstanding accessibility
Mallorca’s greatest advantages include its excellent accessibility. Thanks to many different airlines with direct connections to Palma Airport from Europe's main cities make the island a destination like no other. The Palma International Airport is the most well-connected airport in the Mediterranean, with a total of 375 routes across Europe and the airport was recently awarded the “Best Airport in Europe’’ in the category “between 25 and 40 million passengers per year”.
Private air travel to Mallorca has also progressively gained in importance since the beginning of the pandemic: Palma’s private jet terminal reported the highest number of jet movements in the Spanish region last year with a total of 16,633 flights. This represents an increase of around 58% compared to the year prior to the pandemic (2019: 10,532). Most people travelling by private jet came from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, England, and Scandinavia. The increasing number of arrivals corresponds with Mallorca’s development into a quality-oriented travel destination with exclusive boutique hotels, restaurants, shopping opportunities, as well as sports facilities and events amidst a Mediterranean atmosphere.
