Sports paradise Mallorca

Mallorca has established itself as a top location for both sports enthusiasts and professionals since the island offers the best conditions for sports on land as well as on water - all year round. The spectacular Tramuntana mountains, the impressive landscape, the amazing coastline and the sea are ideal settings for many sports activities such as golf, hiking, cycling, tennis, sailing and many more. Due to the ideal climate, the good sports facilities and, last but not least, the easy accessibility, many international sports competitions take place in Mallorca.

In June 2021 we celebrated the first edition of the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships in the Mallorca Country Club, the new home of lawn tennis in southern Europe which was founded in collaboration with Wimbledon and combines traditional lawn tennis with a modern lifestyle. The ATP Mallorca Championships put the island in the international spotlight attracting the best tennis players such as Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Dominic Thiem among many others. This year, the tournament has once again attracted tennis players and fans from all over the world.

Young tennis stars find their place in the Rafa Nadal Academy of Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal who finished five seasons as world number one. Since its opening in 2016, the academy has already become one of the reference sports centers in the world. It offers top facilities and infrastructure - and all this in the heart of the beautiful island of Mallorca.

With 23 varied as well as challenging golf courses all over the island, Mallorca is also an absolute place to be for passionate golf players and professionals who appreciate the excellent facilities and spectacular views of the Tramuntana mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Once a year Mallorca holds “The Mallorca Golf Open” which is part of the DP World Tour tournament, one of the leading professional golf tournament series in Europe. It is an incredible event in a spectacular setting which attracts many visitors and the best players in the world.

Last but not least, horse riding is also a part of Mallorca. With several horse breeding farms, riding stables and equestrian hotels, the island is a popular destination for horse lovers.
