The Patrick Organization, 135 N. George St., York, offers customized retirement and estate planning services. The business can be reached at 717848-4096 or tpo2@comcast.net.

WS NE

Patrick has been providing customized financial and estate plans for York County individuals exclusively for the last 52 years. He is a Penn State University graduate who majored in insurance and real estate. Upon moving to York in 1968, he started The Patrick Organization by making cold calls and sharing his knowledge about insurance with everyone he met. He soon achieved his goal of becoming a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and then a member of the Court of the Table. In 1999, Patrick became the president of the New England Life Insurance Company Leaders Association. In 2002, in recognition of his years of commitment to the financial industry and his clients, he received the President’s Trophy from the New England Life Insurance Company.

Y

The Patrick Organization now offers services tailored to seniors. After years of working in the financial services industry, Michael J. Patrick, founder and CEO of The Patrick Organization, realized his own insurance needs were changing as he grew older. This realization spurred him to search for products that were more in tune with those who were now facing retirement. Patrick discovered indexed annuities that would allow him to provide a safe money solution for his clients nearing retirement without the worries or risks of the fluctuating stock market. Patrick touches base with his clients many times a year, and he creates specialized, easy-to-read summaries for each client to answer his or her specific policy questions. His goal is to help his clients make informed decisions to reach their life and legacy goals.

Let’s get excited to show small businesses that nothing can stop us from supporting local!

The story of the birth of Jesus will come to life from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, when Susquehanna Grace Community Church (SGCC), 6694 Sunrise Ave., Wrightsville, invites the public to travel on the Road to Bethlehem. The church has been presenting the drive-through Nativity for decades, said Nikki Sandman, a member of the church outreach team. “The young families of SGCC over 40 years ago wanted to have a Christmas event for their children and families of the community that celebrated the true meaning of Christmas,” she explained.

Visitors to Road to Bethlehem can expect a fun, familyfriendly way to celebrate the Christmas holiday. “The Nativity includes 11 scenes with over 30 actors and live animals depicting the journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus,” Sandman stated. “Actors are in full costume, and the live animals add an amazing feel to the night. The driveway is lined with luminarias, and visitors can listen in their cars to our radio station playing a variety of Christmas songs.” According to Sandman, the church continues to offer the event for one reason: Love. “(It’s about) our love for Jesus Christ,” she stated, “and our

love for the community.” The event is free, but food and monetary donations will be accepted for Hearts for Hunger, a food pantry serving Red Lion and surrounding areas. “Road to Bethlehem is an event that reminds families of the true meaning of Christmas,” Sandman said. “The live Nativity is a unique way to bring the Bible to life and captures the attention of all who drive through. This year, Road to Bethlehem gives families the opportunity to make Christmas memories without getting out of the car.” In past years, the event included some indoor activities, but that has changed

this year. “This year, in respect of public health and safety, we are hosting the live Nativity as a drive-through-only event, with no indoor entertainment,” Sandman stated. “It’s still a great night to spend with your family. We encourage families to pack their car with good snacks, warm blankets and cameras. This is a night where the ‘no contact’ of the land can’t outshine the connection to the Lord Jesus.” For more information on the event, readers may visit SGCC’s Facebook page, www.facebook .com/contagiouschurch.sgcc or follow the church on Instagram at https://instagram.com /contagiouschurch_sgcc.

The Cultural Alliance of York County recently announced the winner of the first-ever Artist Innovator Award, Ambitious Caban. The $10,000 cash award was presented on Oct. 12 at the Spanish-American Multicultural Resource Center’s festival at Crispus Attucks. Caban then gave a musical performance. Caban, born Ana Mercado, is an independent artist from York. She is an entrepreneur, owner of Royal Court Barber Lounge and founder of the annual “Back to School Giveathon.” Her discography includes “Made for This” and “La Barbera.” The Artist Innovator Award was created to highlight and reward the exceptional level of artistic talent

that exists in York County. Caban was chosen as the winner after a panel of peer reviewers and jurors from outside York County and across the nation narrowed down the search to seven finalists and then to a single winner from those seven. Artists who work in any medium and live in York County are invited to create a profile of their work at www.york365.com in order to be considered for next year’s award. For additional information on the award, including how to be considered in 2021, readers may visit www.culturalyork.org/artist innovatoraward. Readers may contact rita@culturalyork.org or 717-812-9255 with any questions.

housed at Hannah Penn K-8 school, home to a significantly underserved population. The grant will help the school’s health center connect students, families, and school staff to expanded primary care services as well as offer new behavioral health and wellness resources to the school’s students. The program will also deploy health connectors, health care professionals who will provide inhome support to families, such as helping individuals manage chronic conditions. Health connectors will also connect families to the providers at the Hannah Penn Center and help those who are eligible to enroll in health insurance. Family First Health is committed to providing primary

medical and dental care, integrated behavioral health and substance misuse treatment services to Pennsylvania residents regardless of their ability to pay. Although this grant partnership was initiated prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, it is timely during the pandemic because it will allow Family First Health to help underserved populations obtain the care they might not have otherwise received during school closures. Overall, UnitedHealth Group has contributed more than $100 million to fight COVID-19, support impacted communities, and address emerging health care issues related to the pandemic.
