Theater posts spring classes
The Susquehanna Stage, 133 W. Market St., Marietta, has announced its 2025 spring classes.
A Theatre Dance Workshop for kids ages 6 to 9 will be offered from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays, Jan. 11 to Feb. 22, and again on Saturdays, March 15 to April 26. Students will experience ballet and jazz dance techniques with a focus on musical theater performance. This is a mixed beginner to intermediate level dance class that encourages experimenting with creative movement, character play, and choreography.
A Theatre Dance Workshop for those ages 10 to 15 will be taught from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays,
Jan. 11 to Feb. 22, and again on Saturdays, March 15 to April 26. This workshop also focuses on ballet and jazz. It is a mixed beginner/ intermediate to intermediate/advanced level class.
The theater will also offer an Acting and Imagination class for students ages 9 to 14. This class is suitable for those who are just starting to take an interest in theater and for those who are looking to practice and expand their skills. This class will be held on Tuesdays, Feb. 4 to March 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

GriefShare will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Jan. 8 to April 2, 2025, at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road, Hershey. GriefShare is a 13-week Christian seminar and support group for people grieving the death of someone close.
During the first portion of each meeting, the group will view a video seminar featuring experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in a television magazine format featuring interviews, reallife case studies, dramatic re-enactments and on-location video footage. Following the video will be time for discussion. Participants will receive workbooks to help them explore topics in depth. Each session is self-
contained, so people may join at any time. There is no cost to attend the program, but registration is requested by calling the church office at 717-533-9667. Child care is not available. World War II Roundtable to meet
The Central Pennsylvania World War II Roundtable will meet on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 433 E. Main St., Hummelstown. Retired U.S. Army Col. David Blackledge will speak about his father’s service in the Philippines during World War II, including his capture at Bataan and his experience on a succession of Japanese ships com -
monly known as hell ships. Blackledge will also share about his family’s harrowing rescue from Los Baños Internment Camp near Manila. Blackledge retired as the director of national security studies at the Army War College. The meeting is open to the public, and no registration is required. This annual one-day event aims to equip attendees with all the information they need to start the hobby of beekeeping. Topics will include hive biology, choosing the proper location, tools and equipment, and where and how to get honey bees. The fee includes a con -

BIA of Lancaster presents Pillar Awards
The BIA Pillar Awards honor the member companies of the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County (BIA) for their professional achievements. This year, entries were submitted in three main award categories: Marketing Achievement, Company & Professional Achievement and Remodeling Project Achievements. A new category, the Associate Partner Award, was introduced, allowing associate member companies nominated by BIA Builders to compete for recognition.
A panel of judges evaluated each entry based on its merits. The Pillar Award winners were announced during the general membership meeting and BIA Pillar Awards Dinner on Nov. 21. Meredith Jorgensen from WGAL served as the master of ceremonies for this year’s Pillar Award segment.
