Students Inducted Into NHS Thirty-two Conestoga Valley High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) on Sept. 30. Thirteen seniors and 19 juniors were recognized. The seniors inducted are Keyshla Baez, Cate Chadwick, Marina Gerges, Natalie Hoover, Kyle Hutchinson, Riley Kiel, Cassandra Malles, Ella Obioma, Jayden Rice, Jenna Rychener, Andrea Tu, Delainey Varela-Keen, and
Sydney Weaver. The juniors inducted are Nolan Armstrong, Leah Buch, Garrett Funck, Marisa Heisey, Hollyn Helsel, Taylor Horst, Andrew Hultstrand, Anna Kauffman, Caroline Kulp, Sophia Livingston, Magdeline McGaulley, Kylie Metzler, Conner Nafziger, Abigail Phillips, William Roland, Hunter Silvaggio, Tyler Slingluff, Rachel Tsai, and Sophia Weiss.
Penn State Extension’s 4-H program will offer three SmART Saturdays for community, cooking, and kitchen science where attendees will blend STEM learning, art, and foodie fun with themes and activities. All sessions will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the training room at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. “What’s Up, Cupcake?” will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30. Participants will learn new cupcake decorating skills and design and create cupcakes for a friendly “Cupcake War” competition. Friendsgiving will be offered on Saturday, Nov. 20. learn about nutrition and increase their cooking skills. On Saturday, Dec. 11, Winter World Holidays will offer an opportunity to learn about winter holidays around the world, cook foods important to those holidays, and do fun seasonal activities together. The programs are open to all 4-H members age 8 and older as of Jan. 1. Nonmembers can join during registration. There is a cost per person, per class.
