Children’s Play from pg 1 The Arts at Millersville University Family Fun Fest series will present “You and Me and the Space Between,” a children’s theater piece by Terrapin Puppet Theatre of Australia, on Wednesday, April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Winter Center, 60 W. Cottage Ave., Millersville. Starting one hour before the performance, children will be welcome to participate in creative, hands-on activities. From the mind of Australian children’s playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer, “You and Me and the Space Between” explores the plight of refugees fleeing environmental change, as viewed through the eyes of a child. The show features a paper set that is cut, ripped, patched and otherwise manipulated live. It also includes choreographed projections and animation. The 55-minute show, which will not have an intermission, is suitable for children age 7 and up and their families. Audio description and ASL services are available for the performance. Those who require ASL services are asked to contact the ticket office at 717-871-7600 to purchase accessible seats. Terrapin Puppet Theatre presents contemporary puppetry for young audiences. It creates works for theaters as well as interactive installations for public spaces, and many of the productions are designed so they can be presented in languages other than English through the engagement of local artists. The company’s work has been presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company, at Lincoln Centre in New York, at the Sydney Opera House, and at festivals around the world. There is a cost per ticket, with a discount for students. For tickets and information, readers may visit www.artsmu.com or call 717-871-7600. Dayspring Christian Academy, 120 College Ave., Mountville, will present a pilot school edition of Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady” as its 2019 upper school spring musical. The show will be performed on Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 6, at 2 and 7 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. The show is being presented through arrangement with Music Theatre International. Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady,” based on George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion,” centers around a Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle. Due to her poor accent, Eliza enlists the help of a phonetics professor, Henry Higgins, who believes he can teach any woman to speak so properly she could be mistaken for a duchess. Eliza hopes she will sound more like a lady in order to work in a flower shop. The musical highlights the comedic yet complex relationship between Eliza and Henry as they form an unlikely friendship. According to the school, “My Fair Lady” offers insight on the struggle of finding one’s identity, the power of words, and transformation. “It is a musical about words,” noted
