Logan Weaver, a kindergartner in Kim Dile’s class, was honored for asking his parents to purchase gloves and winter hats for students who do not have them or forgot their winter clothing. Gretna Theatre will offer a drive-in movie on Friday, July 10, with a showing of the filmed live performance of “42nd Street” from London’s West End. The filmed performance depicts the recent revival directed by the musical’s late co-writer Mark Bramble. “42nd Street” first opened at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2017, featuring a cast of more than 50 - the largest in West End history. With a score that includes such tunes as “We’re in the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway” and “Shuffle Off to Buffalo,” “42nd Street” tells the story of famed theater director Julian Marsh as he tries to mount a musical extravaganza at the height of the Great Depression. Soldiers Field, located off Timber Road in Mount Gretna, will be transformed into a drive-in movie theater with a large movie screen. Attendees will be able to tune their FM radio to the film’s audio. Gates will open at 8 p.m. and the film will begin at dusk. There will be an admission fee per carload, and all tickets must be purchased in advance at www.gretnatheatre.org.

“Yes,” He said. “Give me glory by rising as high as you can.” I left the forest and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you. He will never give up on you. Never regret a day in your life. Good days give you happiness; bad days give you experiences; both are essential to life. Random Thought Frustration is trying to find your glasses without your glasses. Recipe of the Week Easy Tuna Casserole Ingredients 3 cups cooked macaroni 1 5-ounce can tuna, drained 1 10.75-ounce can condensed cream of chicken soup 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups french-fried onions Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. In a 9-by-13-inch baking dish, combine the macaroni, tuna, and soup. Mix well, and then top with cheese. 3 . Bake at 350 degrees F for about 25 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle with fried onions and bake for another 5 minutes. Serve hot. Fact of the Week Why do ships and aircraft in trouble use “mayday” as their call for help? This comes from the French word “m’aidez,” which means “help me” and is pronounced “mayday.” Thank You Thanks to Donna Louer of Middletown for the piece on the Fern and the Bamboo! Good lesson! Food for Thought Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out. Have a great week, everybody!

Central Penn College, 600 Valley Road, Summerdale, has launched three fundraising initiatives - with a goal of generating a combined $20,000 in donations - to address impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the college’s students. The first is a $10,000 COVID19 Relief Fund to help students who continue to be impacted by the pandemic while making preparations to reopen campus and conduct classes and student
life under the “new normal.” The second is a $5,000 Health Sciences Equipment Fund to purchase needed medical supplies as well as more up-to-date medical training equipment, so that students are prepared to enter the front lines of the pandemic if needed. The third is a $5,000 Combat Hunger Campaign Fund to provide money, time and resources to help those facing food insecurity now and into the fall.
The Office of Advancement and Strategic Initiatives is spearheading these campaigns. The college plans to contact its alumni, faculty, and staff and the wider community to support these initiatives. Phase one of the campaigns ran concurrently through the end of June. Phase two will continue through the summer and fall. People of all ages can participate, but this offering is ideal for individuals age 12 and up. Three
packages are available depending on length and number of guests. Gamut Theatre Summer Virtual Academy is Gamut’s in-person summer camp transformed into an interactive, online experience.
