the project. “I reached out to businesses in the Parkesburg area,” he said. “Wilde Funeral Home gave us a donation up front for the project, which almost paid for all of our needs.”
Walter & Jackson Inc. in Christiana provided the lumber, and family, friends and community members provided the remaining donations of supplies, including nails, metal hooks and the cornhole bean bags.
The work was completed over several weekends. “Volunteers from my family, my friends from school and Boy Scout troop members came out to The POINT,” Noah said. “I led them through assembling the cornhole boards and putting together the hook and ring game, (which included) painting and assembling it.”
Herman and Dwayne Walton, The POINT’s executive director, stopped by during the process to show their support and they allowed him to have his Court of Honor ceremony on-site as a way to express their appreciation. Noah was also able to present leftover funds from the project to The POINT.
During Noah’s Scouting tenure, he was part of Pack 59 of Gap, Pack 28 of Paradise, Troop 28 of Paradise and Troop 20 of Atglen.
Noah participated in a high adventure trip to Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada with Troop 20, as well as summer camps at several Boy Scouts of America camps in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He was awarded the Mitch King Scouting Award for his leadership and Scout qualities.
Noah held many positions within the troop, including senior patrol leader, troop guide, den chief, outdoor ethics guide, patrol leader, quartermaster and instructor. Noah earned 48 merit

The 35th annual Rubber Duckie Race and Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at Lancaster County Central Park, 1050 Rockford Road, Lancaster. The rain-or-shine festival will take place from 2 to 5:30 p.m., and the rubber duckie race will begin at 5 p.m. A variety of food and beverages will be available to purchase from more than a dozen food trucks during the event.
The festival will feature a variety of games and activities such as arts and crafts stations, traditional carnival games and face painting. Participants will have a chance to win prizes at each game, including books, stuffed animals, bracelets and small toys. Members of the 4-H club will offer pony rides for badges, including 15 Eagle required merit badges. He was also elected to the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s honor society.
During the Court of Honor, the mayor of Atglen, Darren Hodorovich, spoke and presented Noah with a commen- dation from the Borough of Atglen for his achievement.
Noah, a 2023 graduate of Pequea Valley High School, will attend Millersville University this fall to study biology in the pre-optometry program with the goal of becoming an eye doctor.
