My school year This year school will be very good. My favourite lesson is maths because the exercises that our teacher gives us are easy. I will also attend computer lessons because I adore playing computer games and doing exercises on the computer. I also like English because when I grow up I will speak to foreign people. But there are also lessons that I hate. These are history and French. I hate history because I don’t understand the words and I need help and I hate French because now the lessons are getting more and more difficult so they have more difficult words and exercises. After school I will do some extra-curricular activities like sports and chess lessons. I like chess because it is a relaxing and interesting game. Lefteris L. 5

english.gr NEWS My Favourite Superhero My favourite superhero isn’t a fictional character which we see on the TV. It’s a famous and wealthy woman. We have seen her a lot of times on TV and she has received lots of prizes and many people abroad know her for her work. My favourite superhero is Marianna Vardinogianni. She’s a real person who has done many good things for children. I admire her because she does very important things for the children that have diseases. She gave a big amount of money to build a hospital for those kids. Also she is close to these kids and she organizes celebrations and plenty of events. She’s a very nice person and she shows it every day with her work. When I grow up, I would like to follow in her steps. I know that I won’t give huge amounts of money just like her but I want to help these kids. For example, I can organize a big charity to help poor people or something else. Marios R.

My favourite superhero is a powerful and good person. She’s one of my family. She is my mother. My mother is a superhero for me because when I need her she is close to me. My mother is a superhero for many children. Anastasia R. 10

english.gr NEWS My Favourite Superhero My favourite superhero is a real person. A lot of kids love him. His name is Santa Claus and he has magic powers. I love and admire Santa. I would like to meet him and visit his place in Rovaniemi. He’s an old fat man who always wears red clothes and is very quiet. He knows everything about us and comes and gives us presents only at Christmas. Every child believes in him and can’t wait for him to come and give them presents. I hope this year he will come to my house to eat Christmas sweets and drink hot milk. I don’t want a present. All I want is to meet him. Dimitra S.

Who is your favourite superhero?

My favourite superhero isn’t rich and famous and you won’t find her in a comic book or see her in a movie. She hasn’t got thousands of fans and she doesn’t have special powers. She’s a real person and she is a member of my family. She’s my mum, Anna. I love her very much for plenty of reasons. She’s very trustworthy and I can tell her all my secrets. Also she helps me when I have a problem. She is patient and explains everything slowly and quietly. For me she is a superhero because she has three children and she fights for us. My mum is also popular with other people. Her job is a school traffic warden and she cares for children. She always helps children cross the road and waits until the last child leaves. When a parent is late to take their child, my mum stays with them and talks to them until their parent comes. She loves them and they love her. She’s very kind with them, too. When I grow up, I hope I will be just like her. I am definitely going to work hard to help and protect other people like she does! Christos R.
