My English Diary 1

Page 1

This diary practice book provides 5 sections for each diary entry. They are a model diary, reading comprehension, expanding vocabulary, unscrambling words, and writing own diary. Through each section, students can learn how to write a diary and will find confidence in writing their own diary eventually.

Each model diary in this section is attractive enough to make young learners focus on the story given and encourage them to write a diary themselves. The topics can be categorized by the events of the 4 seasons. Students will have an opportunity to write about each seasonal event they encounter. Each book of the My English Diary series contains 48 different events led by the main characters Ben and Lucy.

After reading the model diary, students are provided with reading comprehension questions. By answering these questions, students better understand the story given and can familiarize themselves with the story structure before writing their own diary

Students will focus on 4 target words selected from the model diary. These words are given in a different context so that students can have an opportunity to reinforce their understanding of the target vocabulary.

Here, students are given several jumbled words from which students are asked to make a complete sentence. Once students finish unscrambling the sentences, they will discover another diary story.

After finishing sections A-D, students are given the chance to write their own diary entry with an interesting topic they want to write about.
