“Home is where the heART is” As has become tradition, the time has come for the annual Enid Home Show. This is the 41st year for the home and garden show brought each year by Enid Homebuilders Association and promoted by C & M Production Group, LLC. “The theme this year is home is where the heART is,” said Janelle Martin of C & M Production Group. Visitors to the show will be able to find whatever they need to express the artist within and make their home their own piece of art. “Homes start off on a piece of paper with the architect,” said Martin. “And then comes the contractor and the home keeps continuing to grow with every person who helps make it. Everyone puts a piece of their artist’s eye into the home.” Whether someone is looking to build or buy a new home or make improvements to the home in which they already live, the 2016 Enid Home Show will have what they need to continue to express themselves through their home. This year there will be more than 300 vendors in more than 500 booths in five buildings at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center. The homes show’s hours will be: Friday, April 22: 2-8 p.m. Saturday, April 23: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 24: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is free at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center and admission to the 2016 Enid Home Show is $4 per person and free for anyone age 12 and under. This year, with the theme

of art, there will be live entertainment brought by ITONOMY, Enid’s locally owned talent label company. Charles Owens, co-owner of ITONOMY, said the new company is owned by four Christian men with 25 years of experience between them in recording, marketing and live shows. ITONOMY will be presenting many talents during the home show weekend including singer/ songwriter Jance Davis, singer/songwriter Chloe Beth Campbell, choirs from Hillsdale Christian School and a dance crew from Oklahoma City called Bryce Bionics. Anyone looking for talent for events can visit the ITONOMY booth, view performance and inquire about bookings. ITONOMY is owned by Owens, Michael Buchanan, Dwight Berry and Tyson Scott. Another new attraction this year will be an arts and crafts area. “There will be photographers, furniture builders, wreath makers, candle makers,” said Martin. “There will be alot of different types of booths that we have hand-picked.” The arts and crafts area will be small this year but Martin said she hopes that will change. “We have a small area but we would like for it to grow and become a tradition,” Martin said. She said she hopes the support for local artists continues to grow. The always-popular Kid Zone will have a new attraction this year. “The Lions Club will have their new train outside and they’ll be giving rides,” said Martin. The Kid Zone will have activities for kids of all ages. These

activities include Shriner clowns, pony rides, a giant trampoline, a 22-foot slide, White’s Shooting Gallery, Moon Bounce and even helicopter rides. Nate’s Face Painting will be returning this year as well. “Nate is a local gentleman who resides in Enid but he’s a world-known makeup artist,” said Martin. As always, there will be many giveaways at the show including the annual playhouse giveaway by Coldwell Banker III RE. “Coldwell Banker builds a playhouse every year,” said Jeff Shaffer of Coldwell Banker. The finely-constructed children’s playhouse giveaway doubles as a fundraiser each year. This year, for the second year, the proceeds from the raffle will go to CDSA Youth Build. The program helps young people who don’t have high school diplomas get their high school equivalency certificate, provides them with a mentor and helps introduce them to trades through projects such as Habitat for Humanity, said Shaffer. “We feel so passionate about this program,” said Shaffer. “It’s good for the community as a whole.” Playhouse giveaway raffle tickets will be $5 each or three for $10. The playhouse will be on display at the Coldwell Banker booth and there will be staff on-hand to

answer any real estate questions visitors to the show may have. KNID/KXLS will be back at the show with a live remote and many giveaways for visitors to enter. “We’ll be doing a live remote all three days,” said Patrick Dennin, promotions director. “Swing by our booth. We’ll be right there in the breezeway.” The live remotes will be on KNID Friday from 2-5 p.m., on KXLS Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on KNID Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors to the booth will be able to enter many giveaways such as Beach Boys concert tickets, Frontier City tickets, St. Louis Cardinal tickets, NASCAR tickets, T-shirt giveaways, upcoming Enid events and more. There will also be a new giveaway, Money Tree Bucks, where visitors can earn certificates to spend at the home show.

2016 Enid Home Show Win Money Tree Bucks

Enid Homebuilders Association not only brings the annual Enid Home Show to town each year, but this year they will be hosting an exciting giveaway opportunity. Money Tree Bucks giveaways will be held each day of the home show and will reward supporters of the show by giving them a chance to win certificates to purchase more from home show vendors. “We’re giving away $1,500 in Money Tree Bucks,” said Janelle Martin of C & M Production Group. “The winners will be able to spend the Money Tree Bucks at the show with our vendors.” How it works is, for every ten dollars spent at the home show, visitors can be entered to win certificates that can be spent at the show. The certificates must be spent at the show and have no cash value anywhere else. No change can be given if the certificate holder spends less than the certificate

amount. Winners must be at least 18 years old and must be present to win. “Bring your receipts to the C & M Productions Group booth to enter the giveaway,” said Martin. Every ten dollars spent is worth one ticket with the limit being 200 tickets. There will be $250 in Money Tree Bucks awarded Friday, $750 in Money Tree Bucks awarded Saturday and $500 in Money Tree Bucks awarded Sunday. The Money Tree Bucks giveaway was inspired by the fall home show’s popular Santa’s Cash Stash giveaway. “Santa’s Cash Stash was so successful, we wanted to bring it to the spring show,” said Martin. The purpose of the giveaway is to award visitors for shopping at the home show and to support the vendors.

It’s not very often you see a house inside a building, but that is exactly what Solitaire Homes of Woodward will be bringing to the 2016 Enid Home Show. “We are going to have a 1,904 square-foot, four bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home,” said Jeff Mott of Solitaire Homes of Woodward. The manufactured home industry has always had a level of popularity but companies like Solitaire Homes continue to raise the bar and make the “double-wide” a strong competitor for the on-site built home. “We are so excited to have Solitaire Homes of Woodward with us,” said Janelle Martin of C & M Production Group. “It’s a great company and they have such

New Additions to the Home Show There are some exciting and unusual new additions to the Enid Home Show in 2016 and visitors are sure to be pleased with these unique additions. One of the new vendors this year is Palmer Rustic Furniture out of Stigler, Oklahoma. With the growing popularity of rustic wood furniture, Palmer Rustic Furniture is a perfect inclusion to the home show. Palmer Rustic Furniture is known for cutting down very large, dead trees that most people cannot handle. They take these trees and turn them into rustic log furniture and timelines. These pieces of timeline art use the rings in the tree to mark events in history, creating stunning pieces of art for any home or business. Kelly Palmer of Palmer Rustic Furniture takes pride in his art and in his ability to use large trees that are difficult to cut. One of the most interesting trees he’s worked with is known as the Tamaha Giant. The Tamaha Giant

was once the largest oak tree in Oklahoma but it died due to drought and had to be cut down. “It took five guys to make the cut,” said Palmer. “It was a pretty big situation.” In a surprising turn of events, this Oklahoma oak was hiding some Texas pride. “We sliced it up, crosscut, where you could see the rings,” said Palmer. “There were three of them that looked just like the state of Texas.” Those Texas-shaped slices of wood have become a completely unique pieces of art and Palmer will be bringing one of them to display at the home show. “I burned in the Chisholm Trail and San Antonio and Austin and Fort Worth,” said Palmer. “It’s basically a one-of-a-kind deal. It’s seven-foot by eight-foot.” Palmer will be bringing other pieces of his rustic furniture and art and the Palmer Rustic Furniture booth is sure to be a favorite at the show as it has been at various shows around the country.

“I haven’t been to one show that I haven’t been told by at least a dozen people that we have the coolest stuff there,” said Palmer. Another unique addition to the home show is Tyrone’s Treasures, a charming art booth with original art by Mike Mariano of Okmulgee. “I do all types of silverware art,” said Mariano. Mariano’s silverware art ranges from small pieces that use one piece of silverware to large pieces that use thousands. “I have an alligator made of spoons, a cross out of knives,” said Mariano. “It’s a really unusual type of art.” He said he has done small things like a single piece bent into a shoe or a duck and he has done spiders and airplanes and much more. “You name it, we have it, or we’ll try to make it,” said Mariano. One of Tyrone’s Treasures’ best sellers is a woodpecker made out of spoons but he

also does custom pieces such as an armadillo he just finished for a customer from Texas. “If you don’t see it, ask,” said Mariano. “I love doing custom work.” Tyrone’s Treasures has small and large pieces for indoor and outdoor decoration and Mariano said his pieces are perfect for that hard-to-buy-for person who has everything. “I have pieces from five dollars to as high as they want to spend,” said Mariano. “It’s a fun, whimsical art.” The Dusty Lens is another artistic addition to the home show and will feature photography by Amy Kelly, owner of The Dusty Lens. Visitors to The Dusty Lens booth will have the opportunity to buy unique prints of stunning photographs. These photographs would be perfect as gifts or as a way to enhance the masterpiece that is your home.
