My closest friend for twelve years is getting married. During her first marriage, our friendship was stronger than ever. With her coming marriage however, I get the feeling our friendship is on the skids. Soon I will be the guy that visits every other Thanksgiving. Her children will vaguely remember me. It seems like she has found the perfect man and doesn’t need me anymore. We used to have so many inside jokes, now I listen to her tell me about their inside jokes. When other close friends got married, I didn’t lose a close friend; I gained more good friends. But this one feels different. RH Dear Rocco, I ended up marrying my high school sweetheart after reconnecting after 30 years apart. So far things haven’t been what I expected. He’s a successful business owner and we have no financial worries but I feel as if he changed from the days when we were in school. I also get the feeling he’s not paying enough attention to me as he did when we were kids. While we don’t argue a lot I’m wondering if I made a mistake by marrying him after all these years. HM Dear HM, Grow up. How old are you? Of course you’ve both changed. It’s been 30 years. Priorities change, concerns change, even motivation changes the older we get. And let us not forget how you both have changed physically. Without the aid of a plastic surgeon there are probably things that are sagging on the both of you that were tight when you were kids. Life has that way of doing this to us all. I’m not sure why you are complaining. If you are well off financially, still get along most of the time and can be loyal to one another you are way ahead of the curve. Quit your bitching or move back home to your mommy.

few months. I have always yearned to do this. Some people tell me that this is the only time in my life I would be able to have an expensive car, because I still live with my parents. Others say that I should have traveled first. I will be 21 in the autumn. I am confused. What would you have done, bought the car or traveled? SB Dear SB, Too much is put on having a new car. The car has evolved from when our parents and grandpar ents were our age. The new car thing is a vacuum that sucks you in to a lifetime of payments all for ego gratification. I personally have never owned a new car and I do just fine. A car is like any other investment. It takes research. Depending on what you’re looking for in a car, once you pick out the name you want (BMW, Jeep, etc) there is plenty of data out there on each car’s performance, reliability and what individuals who own that model think of the car – not a paid magazine reviewer. You might be surprised that a number of cars have “good” years of models that outperform in many ways newer or even new cars. There is always a chance of maintenance issues, but there is also an accident chance every time you leave your driveway. Spend wisely. And as far as traveling the world, it must be nice to have an expensive car and trav eling the world to be you two top concerns.

Dear RH, Grow a pair. Obviously you have been in love with your friend for the longest time and did nothing about it. Why? That possibly could have been you she was marrying instead of someone else. Instead of all this would of, should have crap you should have gone for it. No, it wouldn’t have damaged your friendship if there was rejection. The only thing damged in these situations is ego and it’s something you have to put behind you if you want to move forward in your life. You inaction left a perfect opening for someone else to swoop in and claim your happiness.

Dear Rocco, I don’t know whether I have made a mistake. I recently purchased an expensive new car and have three years of stiff payments ahead. The car is the only thing stopping me from traveling internationally for a Dear Rocco,

Congratulations. Dear Rocco, I am 13 years old. I have a wonderful step-dad who has taken care of me since I was born. He and I don’t really ever talk except when I ask him to go somewhere or when I want something. That’s the only time I ever hug him too. What should I do so I can be closer to him? PJ Dear PJ, Talk, ask questions. That is the only way. He might be floored by you doing that but at you age most kids have no desire for a relationship with their parents and espe cially step-parents. Most of us look back at our teen years and are a little embarrassed by our behavior towards our parents. Yet they are always there for us.

What if They Played A Game And Nobody Came? As a cheerleader from the old school UC, I’m very concerned about the lack of support and attendance at the UTC (UC) football games. The school has a great program in place with a topnotch head coach and coaching staff. Trouble is, not very many people come to the games and support the team, especially students. One thing that used to get the students interested to come to the game was when the fraternities and sororities had spaces in the pavilion. They would set up food tables, bring sofas and TVs, dress nicely, and party before game time. At game time they would file out to the stadium and sit together with their fraternity brothers, sorority sisters, and friends. Then someone at the school decided money could be made renting those spaces out to businesses (at least, that was

how I heard it). The result is the frats and sororities don’t congregate in there like they used to. This is sad, putting a few bucks over the participation of the organized students.

OKLAHOMA CITY - An Oklahoma City mother whose 8-year-old son was found to have a dead squirrel in his bag at school said the boy took his father’s jokes a little too seriously. Ladye Hobson posted a photo to Facebook of the late rodent taking its final rest in the boy’s school bag, explaining the discovery at school had led to an awkward phone call from the principal of Gatewood

Elementary in Oklahoma City. Hobson wrote: “When the principal calls to tell you that your son has made her day, so you get excited for the good news... Only to find out that the faculty has discovered a dead squirrel in his backpack (yeah, that 50 dollar Pottery Barn backpack). When asked by the principal what possessed him to pick up this dead squirrel and store it in his backpack, my son replies with ‘I really wanted squirrel dumplings for dinner tonight.’ Then, she asks if I actually want

the squirrel to come home with him. Y’all, I had to explain that we are from the country, but we’re not THAT country. (Sorry if any of you actually eat squirrel dumplings - I don’t mean that to be offensive). She said ‘it looked so peaceful lying there in his bag,’ then sent me this picture...” Hobson said her son, Brylan, apparently thought his father was serious when he repeatedly joked about making “squirrel dumplings” for dinner. The mother said in a blog post that Brylan came home in tears

and apologized profusely, but she decided “he gets a free pass on this one.” “I can’t even be mad at this point. He has made the principal’s day, after all,” she wrote. PORTLAND, Ore. - Authorities in Oregon said a woman who lost control of her car and totaled the vehicle told investigators she was spooked by a spider. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office tweeted a photo

Wednesday from the scene of a morning crash in Portland’s northwest Bonny Slope area. ,Investigators said the car, which ended up upside-down, went off the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver, who suffered only a minor scratch to her hand, said she panicked when a spider dropped from her rearview mirror. Deputies said the car was totaled and there was no sign of the spider at the scene. “Spider season in full swing,” the sheriff’s office tweeted. “Driver not injured after crash when spider drops from mirror on NW Thompson Rd today.” A Shelby, Ohio man has been arrested for having sexual relations with his 3-year-old shepherd mix. According to officials, the man was charged with two counts of animal cruelty for having sexual relations with three dogs and possibly one horse. Whatever happened to monogamy is what I want to know. Investigators executed a search warrant at the apartment where they seized the 3year-old dog and the man’s computer. On the computer they found pictures and stories of his sexual relations with his animals. They also found a bestiality book, “Dearest Pet,” along with signs that read ‘Pets Welcomed’ and a plastic, blowup sheep. I guess the advantage of that toy is that is never says, “Naaaay.” In an unusual sign of ingenuity police say the man advertised dog walking and sitting services around town. Investigators said that they would like to bring more serious charges, but Ohio has no laws regarding bestiality.

A photo of a young Goldblum was placed on one of the nightstands, while two more recent pictures of the actor were placed on a desk and in the bathroom. Freedland also shared a photo of his girlfriend smiling while holding one of the photos.

TV. “The lack of cleanliness disrupts me.” Wakley said he hopes using the Dark Side of the Force for good will inspire others to keep their roads clean. “We need to end this destructive behavior to restore the galaxy,” Wakley said. He said he had a humorous run-in with police this week when someone reported “Batman” walking along the side of the highway, but officers arrived to find Darth Vader doing his civic duty. The Virginia Department of Transportation thanked Vader for his service to the community. “VDOT Salem District would like to thank Darth Vader for helping us keep our roadways ‘in the galaxy’ clean. He took a break on Friday from his busy schedule and used the force to pick up trash along Route 460 in Blacksburg, a highway he adopted as part of the Adopt-aHighway Program,” the department said in a Facebook post.

BLACKSBURG, Va. - A Virginia man who adopted a stretch of highway under the name Darth Vader donned the costume of the Star Wars character while cleaning up roadside trash. Darth Vader, aka Henry Wakley, was spotted Thursday wearing a version of the Sith Lord’s costume with an orange reflective vest at the side of Route 460 in Blacksburg. Wakley adopted the stretch of highway last year and a sign at the side of the road states it was adopted by “Darth Vader.” Wakley, who spends most of his time in New Zealand on business, said he decided to don Darth Vader’s robes and pick up some trash while in town for a couple of weeks. “I SANTA MONICA, Calif. - A hotel like to get out here and dress up provided several framed photos because it makes people smile of actor Jeff Goldblum in a driving by,” Wakley told WSBSENIGMA

A Pennsylvania state trooper says an extremely drunk woman met him at the door wearing underpants and holding two yellow roses she wanted him to accept as part of her “cop fantasy” — that’s all before he charged her with drunken driving instead. Trooper Thomas Laskey went to a residence after a motorist reported they were following a car that had been driving erratically on Interstate 99. Laskey says 40-year-old Monica Barnhart answered the door and matched the description he had of the driver — except that she had taken off her blue jeans and was wearing only underpants. Police say Barnhart eventually acknowledged driving the car and that her blood alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit for drivers. No word on whether he helper her fulfill her fantasy.

Corruption in Government Isn’t Cool At Any Level - Let’s Talk There has been quite a lot of talk lately around the world about Global Government Corruption, in fact, we have a little of that going on here at home, and with our own Diplomacy Teams it seems. Yes, I am speaking of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal and what we’ve learned about the activities of the Clinton Foundation. When recently discussing this, I noted how unfortunate it was that the leftists and socialists were behind so many of these corruption scandals -

and encountered a debating point from a Canadian Citizen who likes Hillary Clinton and doesn’t like Trump. No he can’t vote here, but let’s debate his points of contention shall we? He stated; “I don’t like Trump or the people that promote his angry political rhetoric. Corruption doesn’t just come from the left,” and “Further, there are a lot of corrupt elitists and you don’t have to be socialist. Corruption and elitism is not

Hillary Wants Your Guns In the upcoming election I feel there is a point that needs to be brought up over and over. Make no mistake Hillary Clinton wants your guns. She has made blatant statements to this effect during her campaign that I will elaborate on later. Some people are not concerned about her aggressive anti-gun (thus anti-self protection and anti-Second amendment) stance. However, they should be. If one section of the Constitution is allowed to erode or be abolished then where does the eroding end? If the second amendment can be abolished what stops the First amendment from being dismissed?

which means if you pull the trigger they will fire until they run out of bullets or the firer releases the trigger. Legal fully automatic weapons are rigidly

controlled by federal law and are expensive, and semi-rare. Extensive paperwork must be completed, a tax stamp purchased, a rigorous background check passed, and fingerprints submitted for an individual to purchase an ‘automatic weapon. The Assault weapons ban improperly labeled certain firearms to wrongly ban them from the American public. Most of these ‘”Assault weapons” are used for sporting, hunting, collecting or competition purposes. Yet they were banned under Bill Clinton’s urging while he was president. This ban expired. What will Hillary propose? A proposal for a ban that does not “sunset” I’m sure.

warned “I am going to make that case every chance I get”. How times have changed. In the recent past if a candidate had boldly declared the Second Amendment wrong they stood little or no chance of getting elected. Sadly now people will give up their right to protect themselves due to their mistaken impression that the government will take care of them. Ask people who were trapped in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina how that worked out for them. Look at history and see how disarming people was to the District of Columbia v. used to control lawful people Heller decision where the here in the United States parSupreme Court in a close vote ticularly after the Civil War. upheld the rights of citizens to keep and bear arms. Hillary But back to Hillary’s quest to ride or ignore the Second Amendment? Here’s one reason in her own words: “the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment” referring

Why do I say this? I have a close friend who owns several guns and is a National Rifle Association member. However, he supports Hillary Clinton. When I bring up her anti-gun stance and the possibility of a gun ban he says “she won’t do anything.” I disagree. I bring up the biggest gun ban ever committed against the American public, the erroneously labeled Assault Weapons Ban OF 1994. Bill Clinton, husband of Hillary, spearheaded the push to ban incorrectly termed Assault Weapons and so-called “high capacity” magazines (often wrongly termed clips). Assault Why should you believe Hillary weapons are fully automatic Clinton would attempt to overENIGMA

take your guns/freedoms. According to America’s First Freedom magazine Hillary has made good on her vow to assail the Second Amendment by rolling out an anti-gun plan that includes repealing federal laws that are designed to protect the Second Amendment, banning broad categories of guns and using executive authority to pursue gun control.

Hillary wants to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act which protects gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits where their product was misused by criminals. This is a long recognized principle of civil law that a manufacturer is not subject to liability when its’ product is used illegally. Where does this type of suit stop? Using this logic could a victim’s family sue the maker of a car driven by a drunk driver who injured or killed a family member? Could a hammer maker be sued if a hammer was used in an assault or murder? This is preposterous thinking.

been used by the former Clinton Administration. Robert Riech, Bill Clinton’s Labor Secretary labeled these types of lawsuits “regulation through litigation.” Reich writing in the “American Prospect” concluded that federally sponsored lawsuits such as those against gun makers were “end runs around the democratic process.” This type of end run suit was developed and attempted under the previous

Clinton Administration. Hillary has indicated that former President Clinton will be an adviser to her if she’s elected. Whether it’s in an official or unofficial capacity it’s obvious that her husband, a former President, will be a source of advise and a confidant. I think it’s obvious if elected Hillary will attempt to advance Bill Clintons’ anti-gun agenda and the Clinton anti-gun legacy.

Hillary’s campaign received a total of $8 million dollars from Hungarian-born globalist gun banner George Soros. Donations from Soros have made up almost 20 percent of her campaign contributions according to America’s First Freedom magazine. If you are not familiar with Soros Google him. He is a billionaire who is rabidly anti-gun.

Amendment rights “the first day” referring to her first day in office were she to be elected President. Speaking at an MSNBC town hall meeting she said she supported Obama’s regulation of guns and that “we’re going to start the very first day and tackle the gun lobby.” Speaking of gun control generally she added “...that’s the kind of issue you have to start early, you have to work Furthering her public anti Hillary has promised action on on it every day.” Second Amendment agenda Hillary stated “I think it would be worth considering...referring to an Australian gun ban labeled as a “buy back program.” This is a program where Australians were forced to sell their guns to the government for the price the government wanted to pay. Notice the word forced. Many types of weapons were declared illegal but the attacking our Second So Hillary has made it no secret she is for ignoring the Second Amendment and thus stripping us of a right guaranteed by our Constitution. She says the Supreme Court got it wrong when they interpreted major cases involving the Second Australian government would “buy” them from citizens when they were surrendered. Forced disarmament is forced disarmament no matter what name a government applies to attempt to cover up what it truly is. Yet Hillary supports this. Of course you may not have heard this as the “Lame Stream” media has reported this very little or not at all.

Amendment. It seems that goes along with her elitist attitude that she knows what’s best for the American people and she can just issue edicts without following legal procedure or Constitutional safeguards. Why people would want to elect a person who wants to strip them of a Constitutional right that is guaranteed in only one country in the world I cannot fathom. So make no mistake Hillary Clinton wants your guns. If you are willing to give up a fundamental right guaranteed to you by the Constitution to elect a candidate of your party then prepare to accept the consequences. The right to selfdefense is a fundamental right. Why does Hillary want to deny you the ability to possess an instrument (a firearm) to implement that right? I hope this election doesn’t end 240 years of freedom granted to us by our Constitution.

Falcons Enter October in A Familiar Place With October upon us raise points scored with 104. To give more than both the Titans and your hand if you thought the you an idea of how strong the Texans have scored all season Atlanta Falcons would be in sole possession of first place in the AFC South. Yep, just what I thought. The Atlanta Falcons after a dysfunctional tart to the season at home won their second game in a row Monday night defeating divisional rival New Orleans 45-32. Not many people paid attention since over 84 million tuned into the first presidential debate, but those that witnessed saw another dominating performance by the visiting Falcons.

three games and the Seahawks, who many believe will represent the NFC again in the Super Bowl, have only scored 52 points all season.

“We’ve got a lot of unselfish guys, and we have a group of guys who just want to win. I mean, and I’m not positive, but I think we had eight different guys catch the ball. That’s a lot of people for a defense to key in on. Our wide receivers also did a great job on seam blocking on the outside a lot to get our running backs into the secondary so they could be as Atlanta offense is so far, the 45 (42 apiece). The LA Rams have effective as they were,” said points scored Monday night is only scored 46 points through Atlanta’s Matt Ryan about the

once again. But for the record the Falcons are number one in the league in total yards, as the offense has averaged 448 yards a game. The passing game slipped to fifth place in total

The Falcons have done an about face after an opening day loss that had many wondering if second year coach Dan Quinn was already on the hot seat as the offense moved the ball but were unable to capitalize once inside the red zone. “We wanted to really be aggressive. We wanted to make sure that if it was a fourth down attempt, we needed to convert. We wanted to make sure in every way that we wanted to stay aggressive and keep attacking. The team did a very nice job of mixing up the run and the pass, knowing that there were going to be certain things there for us,” said Quinn. son at this point but the yards as Ryan threw for only Falcons so there is plenty of 240 yards against the Saints, While it’s too early to reserve time for us to get disappointed but he did throw for two scores and there were no turnovers. Ryan didn’t need to pass as much thanks to Devonta Freeman and Tevin Campbell. Freeman and Coleman accounted for 194 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns and 102 yards through the air and another score.

again put on a passing clinic as he threw for 376 yards and three scores. But an interception late in the game helped seal the Saints’ fate. Deion Jones returned the Brees interception 90 yards for the score, which at that point gave Atlanta a 20-point lead at 4525. “While I was running, it seemed to be going in slow motion. When I got near the end zone, I said to myself, ‘I have got to get across the line and get in.’ It was just amazing to come back here and play in front of all of my fellow New Orleanians as well as in front of my entire family. It was a blessing. It was like a dream come true,” said Jones of his interception return. “We’ve beat them before on a Thursday night, but on Monday night they’ve had our number the last few years. To go out there and get the victory against them tonight; it is going to make the ride home so much sweeter,” said Falcons linebacker Sean Witherspoon.

The Falcons return home to the confines of the Georgia Dome Sunday where they will face league MVP Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have already lost twice as many games as they lot all of last year. With fall here many things take place. School’s back in, football is being played and yes, it’s time for one of the best music festivals in the country. Piedmont Park in Atlanta hosted the annual festival enjoying record crowds and an eclectic mix of talent. This year’s lineup was geared towards younger music fans with electronic artists headlining a number of stages as well as familiar names with new projects. Featured acts included Deadmaus, Kesha, DNCE (featuring Joe Jonas), Beck, Lil’ Wayne and 2 Chainsz, Chvrches and more over the weekend.

EVERYONE LOVES BACON

©Dave Weinthal

No one can deny Kevin Bacon’s part in pop culture history. They has been everywhere and with a parlor game named after him (The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon) whose degrees of Baconhood even extend to Andy Warhol (his wife is Kyra Sedgwick sister of Warhol muse Edie), I guess it would also make sense for it to extend to music.

Throughout the show the two brothers took turns with stage banter with Michael as entertaining and explaining to the crowd the simplicity of their song titles in a light-hearted affair. While the mood was light-hearted and the some of the song titles simple like “Lava Lamp”, “Bus” and “36 Cents” – Michael told the audience the song was about the contents in his pocket,, nothing symbolic kept the audience’s attention and the mood up during the entire show.

It was an interactive foray into music, pop culture and more. The show was a perfect blend of music and banter that hasn’t been executed this well since the days of vaudeville. The attendee easily got more than they bargained for. And this is someone who was cynical stepping into the room.

THIS MONTH IN ROCK HISTORY 1951 18-year-old Richard Penniman, who is already using the stage name Little Richard, makes his first recordings for RCA Camden at the studios of Atlanta radio station WGST. His early attempts imitated the Gospel style of late1940s Jump Blues artist Billy Wright who was a friend that set him up with the opportunity to record.

James Brown’s appearance at the Apollo Theatre in New York was recorded for an album called “Live At the Apollo”. The selffinanced LP cost Brown $5,700, but would go on to sell over a million copies and earn a reputation for being one of the finest concert albums ever made. It was ranked at #24 in Rolling Stone magazine’s 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. “Live At The Apollo” was the first album recorded just the way it was performed, with no separation in the tracks. This technique made it nearly impossible for the record company to issue single releases, forcing record buyers to purchase the entire LP.

Sam Cooke’s “You Send Me” is released by Keen Records. The single will be his biggest hit, topping the Billboard chart and selling two-and-a-half million copies. Over the next eight years he will place twenty-eight more song on the Hot 100, with three of them coming after his death 1964 on December 11th, 1964. After an enthusiastic reception from the audience, Presley is booked to appear every week for a year at $18 per show. His sidemen, Bill Black and Scotty Moore are paid $12 each. 1955 Colonel Tom Parker sends a telegram to Sam Phillips, asking for a firm price to release Presley from his Sun Records contract.

1961 “Hit The Road Jack” becomes Ray Charles’ second tune to top the Billboard Pop chart. In the UK, it reached #6. The song has since been ranked #377 on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. 1962 Brian Epstein signs his management contract with The Beatles. John Lennon and Ringo Starr signed for themselves and Harold Harrison and James McCartney do so on behalf of their underage sons. The agreement gave Epstein a 25% cut of the group’s earnings, provided that they made more than $400 each per week.

Curtis Mayfield quits The Impressions to launch a solo career and to found his own label, Curtom Records, with manager Eddie Thomas. He would go on to place five songs on the Billboard Hot 100 over the next four years, including “Freddie’s Dead” (#4) and “Superfly”, (#8), both of which sold over a million copies in 1972. 1975 Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was released as a single. Fogerty had signed over the rights to the songs he recorded for Fantasy when he and the other members of Creedence Clearwater Revival first inked a contract with Fantasy. At the trial, John would use an acoustic guitar to show how many other songs had used the same short series of notes that appeared in both recordings. In the end, Fogerty emerged victorious.
