A Curious Case of Deceit Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair recently said, "The "perversion of Islam is the source of a lot of the problems in the Middle East." Here is America everyone from the President to the Attorney General and the head of our own CIA constantly remind us that Islam is peaceful. Senator and former POW John McCain said: "ISIS has nothing to do with the reality of Islam." Even conservative talk show host Bill O'Reilly said: "Jihad is a perversion of Islam, we all know that." Are their words deceitful, ignorant or true? If our leaders charades and double talk wasn't bad enough, many American's have an attitude of 'it can't happen here'. While I hate to break it to you, it is happening here right now. What's curious is our leaders and our media's refusal to call a spade a spade.

Let's look at last months Islamic State: "It's Islam Over Islamic actions as evidence Everything". Or this headline, right here in America. "Minnesota Muslim pleads guilty to conspiring to aid the One headline out of Minnesota Islamic State". read, "Minnesota Muslim suspected of jihad recruitment But Minnesota doesn't have a given school bus driver's corner on Islamic terrorists in license." He'd been on a terror America. Texas has their issues watch list, and we give him a as well. We find this headline, driver's license to transport "Texas: Armed Muslim enters a our kids. Minnesota is a church, says Allah told him to hotbed of activity because of "slay infidels." That's lovely. the rising population of Somali "Muslim ex-University of Texas refugees. student gets 10 years for recruiting jihadis." At least Another headline read, they caught this guy. "Minnesota leads the U.S. in Muslims who have tried to join If we move to the east coast, the Islamic State". Another we have headlines like this headline read, "The Twin one. "Philadelphia: Muslim Cities have an ISIS Problem." teen arrested for Islamic State That simply means many of jihad plot against Pope." And our 'refugees' return to the this one, "New York Muslim Middle East to fight for ISIS. pledged allegiance to the Like the one from Minnesota Islamic State". Another from who was behind this headline, New York that reads, "New US Muslim killed fighting for York Muslim: "I'm ready to die for the Caliphate, prison is nothing". Or this one that reads, "New Jersey Muslim teen facing charges for threats to Obama, claims of Islamic State jihad plots against New York City." This next one is probably innocent fun by kids. "NJ Muslim accused of throwing lit firecrackers at synagogue while screaming "Allahu akbar." Well, maybe not? Moving elsewhere in America we find some peace in the heartland. "Kansas: Muslim gets 20 years for jihad bomb plot at Wichita airport." In Virginia we find, "Man who shot Virginia journalists

"closely identified" with 9/11 jihadis." I doubt you heard this on the nightly news. And another in Virginia reads, "Virginia Muslim gets 11 years for aiding the Islamic State." In Miami there was this, "Muslim gets 15 years for conspiring to support jihad mass murderers". Arizona brought us this news, "Arizona Muslim charged with supporting the Islamic State". Keep in mind that all these headlines were from September 2015. One month in the life of America. These headlines are real. Why on earth do our President and all the others listed above keep saying Islam is a peaceful religion? The only Islamic country that could in the least be considered peaceful and that is Saudi Arabia. They have beheaded over 100 people so far this year under Sharia Law. That's more than ISIS has beheaded. Here's one last headline we should consider. "Obama Administration granted asylum and residency to 1,519 foreigners with terror ties." We are living in historic times. The largest beacon of free will in the world, the one that makes the other free countries possible, is being taken over before our eyes. Our curious leaders are denying the obvious and leading us to destruction. Remember, the silent majority means nothing if they remain silent.

Dear Rocco, My ex broke up with me because he thinks I’m being too jealous. Here’ s the situation his ex wife and his ex live-in girlfriend call him every day and come over to see him all the time. He says his ex live-in girlfriend is his best friend. I always thought the current girlfriend would be the best friend. He said he knew her longer. Well, just a few months ago he asked her to move back in with him and she said no, she just wanted to be friends. Dear Rocco, I am almost about to die for this boy. He’s so fine and everybody I know wants him. We went out for a few days, then we broke up, and then we got back together. I really loved going out with him. But I knew he already had a lot of girls calling him, and even a steady girlfriend. I wanted to go back out with him but he was saying that he was trying to be faithful to his girlfriend, but I cannot accept that. I think about him every day! What should I do because I am so caught up over him? KN

Dear Rocco, I have a big problem with my boyfriend and need sensible advice. Often when I drink, I get irritable and bitch on him about everything. I always feel guilty they day after, as I go overboard easily. It doesn’t only happen when I drink but that’s when my attacks get the most mean and aggressive. I know this! I still can’t stop! Overall, he is an amazing man and he doesn’t deserve it, but I can’t stop myself. I’m afraid I’ll lose him if I keep this up. He is kind and patient and says that he forgives my outbursts but lately he doesn’t seem as happy and outgoing as normal. Maybe I have pushed him too far? I have tried to tell him to go out more, and get together with his friends, but he says. “He’s tired…” or “Doesn’t feel like it…” There is no “make up sex” anymore either, as he most often turns me down. Yes, hard line football fans of the school were beginning to wonder if UTC was a basketball school and not a football school.

The long and storied program had been on hard times since the late ‘80s and even a new state-of-the-art stadium that opened in 1997 did not change the fate of the program. The city of Chattanooga had been the longtime host of the 1AA National Championship Game. In fact the city got so used to having it that it seemed like it took the game for granted. Despite every major media outlet coming to town for one week including ESPN the town had problem drawing local support as very few locals attended the game. And then in 2007 there was “Turf-Gate”. The field’s turf had gotten so bad that chunks were visibly seen on network TV as players ran. The field condition made more news outlets than the outcome of the game.

The following year the Stadium Corporation invested in new turf similar to what the Georgia Dome was using and hosted the game another year to much praise. However before the game was played it was announced that a city in Texas was going to be the new home for the 1-AA National Championship Game (now the FCS Championship Game). Add to that the woes of the football program and the school was ripe to drop the program. Enter Russ Huesman. Huesman, defensive coordinator for Richmond, the team that won the last national championship game hosted at Finley Stadium had his name pop up as a candidate to take over the floundering program almost as soon as the game at Finley was over.

Huesman had ties to the school. He was an alumnus and played under Coach Joe Morrison. Morrison, a former New York Giant in a little over five years turned a mediocre program into a dynasty. In his short time at the school he quickly accumulated the second best winning percentage at UTC – even higher than the legendary Scrappy Moore and took the team from small no name school to not only joining the Southern Conference, but dominating it. Under Morrison the UTC football team put scares into SEC foes Vanderbilt and Auburn losing by single digits. Then what happens to all great coaches who coach at small schools… the bigger programs call. Morrison left for New Mexico State and then later South Carolina. UTC’s teams CONTINUED ON PAGE 20

ANGLETON, Texas - The family of a 12-year-old Texas girl who has been sneezing up to 20 times per minute for the past month said doctors are stumped by the condition. Angleton resident Katelyn Thornley,12, said her sneezing fits began about a month ago and she has since been sneezing up to 20 times per minute — about 12,000 times per day. “I’m constantly in pain with my abdomen, my legs are hurting because I’ve been weak and I can barely eat,” Thornley

told KTVT-TV. The girl’s parents said they have taken her to six different physicians, who ruled out allergies and viruses as a cause of the nonstop sneezing. They said stress appears to make the condition worse. “Anything you talk to her about that irritates her — you can see it spike and continuous sneezing,” Thornley’s father told KRIV-TV. “It’s easy to trigger.” Thornley said she takes Benadryl to help her sleep at night. “Sometimes I wish I could leave my body for a little while so i could watch myself sleep and be at peace because even in my dreams, I

The North Pole Clerk’s office said Santa Claus, whose festive moniker is his legal name and is listed on his driver’s license, is running a write-in campaign for the North Pole City Council. The office said there is only one other candidate for the office, fellow write-in hopeful La Nae Bellamy. Claus, former president of the North Pole Chamber of

Santa Claus previously ran a shortlived campaign for president of the United States in 2012.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL. - 39-yearold Christina Balazi of Florida, was arrested for stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife after he called her by the name of another woman during sex. Christina Balazi was charged with attempted murder. Police said that the couple was “being intimate” inside their home when her husband mistakenly called her another woman’s name. Christina pulled a sheet over her husband’s head and stabbed him with a kitchen knife, according to the police report. The husband, Christopher Balazi, told police his wife of 10 years straddled him and stabbed him in the chest and neck at least seven times. Mr. Balazi finally managed to wrestle the knife away from his wife and he ran outside to get help. Christina got into her car and tried to flee, but was arrested after a brief police chase. She admitted to stabbing her husband because he had uttered the name of another woman in bed. GASTONIA, N.C. - North Carolina police said a woman drove donuts in an intersection, struck four vehicles, flipped her car and gave her name as “faith, hope and love.” Gastonia Police said witnesses reported the woman was driving donuts — tight circles — with her car about 4:25 p.m. Thursday in a busy intersection and the motorist temporarily stopped her vehicle when police arrived. An officer asked the woman her name, and she replied, “Faith, hope and love,” Gastonia Police Capt. Rodney Aldridge told the Gaston Gazette. The woman backed into the officer’s car and struck it two more times before continuing to do donuts in the intersection. Police said the woman struck two civilian cars and a second police cruiser before she drove down a 12-foot embankment, knocked over a fire hydrant and flipped her car onto its roof. Witness Rhonda Helms said police had to pepper spray the woman to take her into custody. She said the woman appeared to be singing, “Jesus loves the little children of the world,” as she got out of her car. Police said the

woman, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital for evaluation. JIAOZUO, China - Tourists on China’s recently-opened glass walkway on a cliff face 3,540 feet above the ground ran for their lives when a visitor’s mug cracked the glass. The walkway on Yuntai Mountain in Henan Province, which opened to the public in September, is closed for repairs after a tourist dropped a stainless steel mug Monday and the cup’s impact cracked one of three layers of glass on a section of walkway, Yuntai Mountain Scenic Spot officials confirmed. Witnesses said on social networking site Weibo the damage was more severe than indicated by officials, who said one layer of glass was merely cracked. Witnesses said a plate of glass had instead shattered in a “floral” pattern, but remained intact. The broken glass sent tourists screaming and running for their lives to get off the walkway, but officials said the tourists were never in any danger during the incident. They said the two remaining layers of glass would have been sufficient to support the weight of the visitors. SAN JOSE, CA. - Police in California, were called to a camera store after 80-years-old Frank Prendergast of San Jose brought them a secure digital (SD) memory card and asked for help in recovering some photographs he had saved on there. Employees contacted the police after they were able to unlock the memory card and discovered - surprise, surprise - a cache of child porn! Officers confirmed that the digital photographs were in fact child pornography. When Prendergast returned to retrieve the SD card, he was arrested. He allegedly admitted to possessing more pornographic photos at home. During the search of the elderly man’s home, police seized several computers along with hundreds of VHS tapes. Apparently he had saved all of his daguerreotypes to that SD card. ENIGMA

went after Hillary for her “flip-flopping” on issues. She was obviously ready for that one. Sanders stumbled a bit at first, but did a pretty good job of trimming his big ideas into bite-sized chunks. Despite Cooper’s incessant interruptions, the candidates themselves were incredibly polite. This is a strong contrast to the chaotic comedy that characterized the two Republican debates. The Dems actually talked about issues. Cooper looked like he was trying too hard at first. But, as Cooper pointed out, that sentiment was “popular in the room.” A room full of Democrats with enough clout and/or cash to get an invitation…

…Webb and Chaffee were on the edge of the dais for good reason. Webb kept wasting his time complaining about not getting enough time. Chaffee looked lost up there. …So… who “won” the debate? Clinton was as polished as everyone expected her to be, but also managed to show a good bit of warmth and humor. Sanders started a bit slowly, but found his groove as the debate went on. O’Malley, as previously stated, got himself on the national radar. Webb and Chafee shouldn’t even get invited to the next Democratic debate. It sounds cheesy, but I think the viewing public and the debate process were the big winners Tuesday night. The Dems delivered an issues-based discussion on the topics that should frame the next presidential election… …That last point is important, because the Democrats will have to break a 24-year cycle to keep the White House.

George H.W. Bush, who followed Ronald Reagan, was our last one-term president. (The Reagan-Bush hand-off was the last time either party had more than eight years in charge of the executive branch.) Then we got eight years of Bill Clinton, eight years of George W. Bush, and two terms for Barack Obama… …I couldn’t help wondering what Joe Biden was thinking as he watched the debate. Did he see an opening? Or is he going to sit this one out? Both Clinton and Sanders turned in pretty good performances in Las Vegas. I’m not convinced that Biden can offer anything that those two can’t…

The Redskins are kind of like a hot mess. They drafted Robert Griffin III with the number two overall pick in 2012. The drama forced the coach out and in came in first time NFL head coach Jay Gruden. 2014 was pretty much a repeat of 2013 except Gruden did the unthinkable and benched Griffin. Citing an injury for the benching the Redskins went the rest of the year with Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy under center. The season did not go well.

The first two weeks of the season did not prove anyone wrong. There was talk about how dysfunctional the front office, team and the coaching staff was. There was more talk of where Griffin would be traded and what week Gruden would be fired.

Prior to training camp the coach announced that Griffin was still the team’s quarterback. Then Griffin, who pulled up lame, was benched and Cousins was named the starter. By many the Washington Redskins were con-

must share the news that Caarr eeyy passed away peacefully C this morning after her illness with cancer,” they posted. “We have lost our friend and band mate, and our deepest sympathy goes out to her Keennnnyy, and to all her partner K family and friends.” …Statistics released by market experts Nielsen show that song downloads between January and the end of September 2015 are down almost 100 million on the same time period in 2014. Extrapolation of the figures suggested the year end differential might be around 120130 million downloads. The decline, from nearly 850 million downloads last year to 755 million this year, coincides with a huge increase in song streams across the same period. While 118 billion tracks were streamed in the first nine months of 2014, 232 billion streams took place until the end of September this year. Tidal and Apple

Music have come into the crowded streaming market over the past year or so, with both taking a more curated approach to music streaming. Full packaged album downloads remain at about the same level, according to Nielsen, despite the growing success of streaming services. Streaming’s success in terms of numbers hasn’t converted as convincingly into cash, however. Recent figures revealed that vinyl sales in the US now surpass the total commercial value of streaming services. The first half of 2015 saw a 52% increase in vinyl sales compared to the same time last year.
