Global Warming and Media Baloney
Apparently, the debate truth to do it. That is so PR roadshow by the IPCC about Global Warming -- wrong, so utterly pathetic, maybe paved by the which by definition means and it's practically an admis- Greatest Intentions Paving human's CO2 emissions is causing a catastrophic warming period -- is raging on, and it the science will not be settled anytime soon, nor will the politics rest for one millisecond. Not long ago, there was someone who asked a question geared towards the followers of Global Warming (AGW) theory; "How would you improve the way the Climate Change story is told?" This was a real question asked at an IPCC sub-group meeting in June of 2015 in Europe where they asked; "How do we manage the human fight or flight response to Climate Change? How do we frame the situation/data that is not just focused on fear/doomsday but one that inspires behavioral/ value based changes - for example our relationship to Water?"
Okay so, let's talk a bit about this and let me sound off for a moment to help you see the problem with this IPCC line of thinking. You see, I want to state: How disgusting this is, the IPCC wants to do a "Charm Offensive" and although they may think that very noble of themselves, they have hijacked science and
sion of guilt. They want to Company LLC, but it ends tie to "Water" as in clean at the crossroads of hell and water, water shortages, future water wars, precipitation, El Nino, Floods, monsoons, etc. The UN's IPCC wants to change behavior in the individual human world-wide, kind of like religion, and yet the IPCC does all this in absolute hypocrisy, because they won't even change their own group-think Machiavellian nature. Why would I want to join in that group that would have me as a member as long as I marched in rank and file to their so-called future Utopia, sound familiar. This ENIGMA

the sewer of humanity. That's my view on it.
The problem I see with the IPCC, is it needs to come clean as their computer climate modeling didn't work on predicting feedback loops and the CO2 does not correlate to warming or cooling. Thus, the hard science work here needs legitimate scientists that admit they were wrong. When do you think that will happen? I believe never. What are your thoughts? Remember, this debate is not going away anytime soon, there are powerful forces and politics, and billions of dollars at stake on all sides of this issue. - Lance Winslow

The Carson Factor Dr. Ben Carson’s rise in the polls has shifted the landscape in the Republican primary race. For months now, it’s all been about Donald Trump. And the billionaire political hobbyist regained the top spot in most polls. But Carson’s brief stint at the top got him on the media radar… in a big way…
to hit his mom in the head with a hammer? We may never know, but CNN and other media organizations have been unable to confirm any of those tales. I personally think Carson was trying to give himself some retroactive street cred when he conjured up the adventures of Mean Ben…
…America’s first neurosurgeon candidate has spent a good bit of time countering allegations that his biography contains highly exaggerated or even fictitious tales of his “violent past.” Did young Ben Carson really hit a kid in the head with a metal lock? Did he try to stab a friend and have his blade stopped by a belt buckle? Did he really try
…As for that “scholarship to West Point,” it’s a relatively minor issue in my book. It’s quite likely that ROTC standout Carson met General William Westmoreland. The general might have suggested to the young lad that he ponder attending the Army’s academy. Perhaps the lad interpreted that as an assurance of a scholarship. While
all of the cadets in our nation’s service academies are on full scholarship, they also need to be appointed by a U.S. senator, a U.S. congress member, or the vice president. In any event, it’s not a big deal to me… …Some of the good doctor’s views are a pretty big deal to me, however. Carson has been quoted as saying that Obamacare is “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.” That’s just plain crazy. Carson has repeatedly denied

any involvement with Mannatech, a nutritional supplement company that lost a class action lawsuit in Texas. All told, Mannatech and its founder, Sam Caster, paid out $7 million. Dr. Ben was paid $42,000 to speak at Mannatech and also appeared in a promotional video with Caster. Carson is trying to downplay his relationship with the company while insisting that its products “work for me.” This topic will keep coming up, but it’s a dead issue unless there is proof of a formal relationship between the
candidate and the snake oil company… …Carson polls strongly among those who identify as fundamentalist Christiana. While his background as a Seventh-Day Adventist is outside of the typical fundamentalist denominations, he is perceived as a man of faith. This contrasts rather dramatically with Trump’s ambiguous, nonspecific interpretation of Presbyterianism… …As I write this, the top eight GOP candidates are about to debate in Milwaukee. It comes on too late for me to stay up and analyze it for this week’s column, but I do have a few observations. I expect the
ting more comfortable in the bright lights and his tirades against “the media” and its unfairness resonate with a lot of conservative voters… …This year’s Republican primary race is just so damned weird. A reality television star and a neurosurgeon are leading in the polls. Jeb Bush is still in his slow death spiral. Marco Rubio got a poll bump after the last debate and I’ll be interested in seeing how he does in Milwaukee. I’ll also be interested to see if Carson continues his firmer, more assertive posture with the media. It’s shallow, uninformed, and childish, but it plays nicely return of the bombastic ver- the last debate and Carson with his base… sion of Donald Trump. SANTA ANA, Calif. - A California woman whose photo of her engagement ring beset with her finance’s wisdom tooth went viral says “diamonds are so overrated.” Carlee Leifkes of Orange County, Calif., said her relationship with fiance Lucas Unger has been unconventional ever since they first met at a music festival in his native Canada. “So incredibly excited to marry my best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond,” Leifkes wrote in a Facebook post. “We
have never been the ‘traditional couple,’ why the heck start now?” Leifkes told Buzzfeed the ring, which bears one of the wisdom teeth removed from Unger’s mouth at the age of 17, means more to her than a diamond. “When we’d spoken about it, I’d said that diamonds are so overrated,” she said. “My birthstone is a diamond. I don’t need one to prove how much someone loves me. He’d already moved all the way from Canada to do that!” Leifkes said the viral photo has resulted in a lot of feedback, some positive and some negative. “We thank everyone for their continued support and love and

Barra da Grota prison in Araguaina, said the tiny trafficker was spotted running through a prison corridor with bags of drugs tied to its tail. The investigation into the drugsmuggling mouse turned up 29 small packets of marijuana and 23 packages of cocaine. Gomes said officers are reviewing CCTV footage in an attempt to determine who was behind the scheme. “They attached a hook to the mouse’s tail and then used it to carry the drugs and other goods from one cell to another,” Gomes told G1. “When
the animal arrived at its destination, the prisoner took the mouse and removed the hook from its tail.” A video shared by prison officers shows the tame mouse allowing investigators to pet it on the head. The mouse was released outside the prison, officials said. OMAHA - A woman in Omaha was accused of trespassing after sneaking into a local zoo and being bitten by a tiger on Halloween night. Jacqueline Edie, 33, is currently being treated for injuries on her left hand at the Creighton University Medial Center. Edie, who showed signs of intoxication and acted aggressively towards hospital staff, allegedly snuck into the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium Saturday night to pet an 18-yearold Malayan tiger named Mai. Zoo officials say that upon reaching into the animal’s cage, the tiger bit Edie’s hand and caused severe trauma. A friend then transported Edie to the hospital. Police say the incident may have occurred at 4 a.m. The incident is currently under investigation by the Omaha Police Department. How Edie managed to enter the zoo is still under investigation. Executive director Dennis Pate told Sky News additional cameras are being installed at the zoo, which is currently staffed by 24-hour security personnel and equipped with computerized locks for entry and exit points. Zoo patron Ron Hegg told Omaha.com the tiger’s actions were understandable. “It’s not like it got loose and attacked someone,” Hegg said. “It was just protecting its territory.” ODESSA, Ukraine - A man running for a Ukrainian city council seat under the name of Emperor Palpatine, the villain from the Star Wars films, won with more than 54 percent of votes. Aleksandr Borovik, 25, who used the Sith Lord’s name and costume in his campaign for the Odessa city council, was one of nearly 50 candidates in the election to use names taken from the Star Wars films. Borovik, who identified himself as holding the position of “emperor” for “LLC Palpatine Finance Group,” won more than 54 percent of votes
for his seat. Odessa has recently seen a surge in Star Wars-related news after a statue of Vladimir Lenin was transformed into Darth Vader last week, and a man in a Chewbacca costume was arrested while campaigning for city council candidate Darth Vader. The emperor’s election was decried by mayoral candidate Sasha Borovik in a Facebook post. “I can’t understand, but all the same respect, the choice of those who voted for the current government,” he wrote. “We all have our own choices ... but it’s above my understanding. People, what’s wrong with you?” MIAMI, FL - There are lots of different kinks. Exhibitionism is one; getting naked in a public place. Food is another. If you have ever poured chocolate syrup on your partner’s nipples you know about that one. But one 23-year-old woman in Florida decided to combine both. In a Johnny Rockets restaurant. Video of the incident was posted on social media. According to an incident report, Angelic Valle walked into the restaurant topless and began turning over tables and chairs. A witness said her eyes were open wide, and she was laughing and breathing heavy. Valle is also accused of charging at several men in the crowd and taking off the lower part of her bikini. Police said she then laid naked on a table and poured ketchup on herself while dancing. A witness told Valle that the cops were coming and she grabbed a towel and left, telling the crowd, “Look me up on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook,” police said. She later came back with clothes on for her shoes and bag, but left again before officers arrived. Miami Beach police eventually caught up with Valle and arrested her on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, incite to riot, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. Police are still searching for a man involved in the incident. He is also wanted on lewd and lascivious charges, because cellphone video shows him touching Valle’s vagina while she was lying on a table.

Devonta Freeman, one of the league’s leading rushers and touchdown leader to 12 yards on 12 carries and didn’t want to catch the same grief that Smith caught the last couple of seasons in similar situations. Of course it didn’t seem like Smith could make anyone happy in Atlanta his last couple of years. “It was one of those things when coach thought we were going to get the ball back. We believe in him {Quinn]. I believe in him,” said Freeman. “It is just not happening like that. That time we learn from it, we don’t

Three years ago these two teams faced off in the NFC Championship game with one of the most exciting finishes. Now the 49ers are bottom feeders in the league and the Falcons haven’t been much better although a fast start got everyone in the ATL excited until consecutive losses against Tampa Bay and now San Francisco.
“It’s a really disappointing anytime to have back to back losses. For us to be at our best, our whole team working together, getting turnovers, not turning the ball over, attacking like we’d like to,” said Quinn. “So, when we’re not playing our best it makes it hard on us. Both losses, any of them are difficult, and certainly this one was, because we thought we had a chance to win it there at the end and we didn’t.” Unlike their previous losses this season, the Falcons did not shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers. They actually won the turnover battle with two second half interceptions of Gabbert including one by their top draft pick Vic Beasley. Ryan played mistake-free foot-
ball throwing for over 300 yards for the second week in a row and a score and Julio Jones caught ten passes for 137 yards and has now passed the century mark in yardage in only nine games. And let us not forget special teams. Eric Weems put on a show Sunday returning a punt 41 yards and taking a kickoff back 50 yards in the second half. penalties that led to two Drew Brees touchdown passes and one play even included backto-back unsportsmanlike penalties on the same play. “I know I got a little crazy out there, and other people did too. But we settled down quickly and played football,” said Titans outside linebacker Brian Orakpo. “Like I said it’s very hard and frustrating when you get a call like that because you work so hard to get to a guy like Drew Brees. But even if the calls didn’t go in our favor, we had to settle down and continue to play football.”
Besides the obviously fired up Tennessee defense the offensive line did a better job as Mariota had more time in the pocket and avoided being sacked. “I knew that Marcus (Mariota) is pretty good at getting the ball out of his hands. We’ll look at the tape and see how we did with our rush. It’s kind of frustrating,” said Saints coach Sean Payton. “We played some zone and some man coverage. We just struggled getting off the field, and obviously when you lose like that in overtime, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth.”
pull even thanks to a successful two-point conversion. The Saints, winner of three in a row and looking more like their old selves faltered late allowing the Titans and their rookie QB back into the game and eventually in overtime. “Momentum in games sometimes can be a little bit out of your control. I think that we got off to a fast start. I think that’s something that we talked about all week. We were able to do that, which was good,” said Saints tackle Zach Strief. “We had momentum not go our way. Sometimes that happens. We felt real good coming into half time. I would tell you the inability to establish that momentum coming out of half time hurt us the most.”
The Saints seemed to be toying with the Titans only taking a 21-17 lead into the locker at the half and expanded their lead to 28-17 before some heroics from Mariota who completed 28-of-39 passes on the day to Both teams had chances to win

Eagles Soar Over Cowboys In Overtime
At least it was an entertaining game. And for the first time in six weeks, the Dallas Cowboys offense finally showed it had a pulse for an entire game instead of maybe a couple of quarters then flat-lining. Unfortunately this week’s opponent, division rival Philadelphia, extended the team’s current woes by helping extend its losing streak to six games with a 33-27 overtime win. It’s the longest losing spell the Cowboys have had to endure in over 25 years.
Perhaps it was a fitting ending to the circus-like week that surrounded the Cowboys leading up to the contest. First running back Joseph Randal was given his outright release from the team. Then a bizarre custody battle started to develop over Dez Bryant’s pet monkey. Then the roof caved at the teams training facility at Valley Ranch when a website somehow was able to retrieve pictures of Greg Hardy’s domestic abuse case in 2014 and release the images on the Internet. A predictable media firestorm erupted. ENIGMA
Backup quarterback Matt Cassel had his first breakout game in five years as he tossed three touchdowns and passed for nearly 300 yards. He guided the team on five scoring drives, but one miscue – an interception returned for a touchdown – proved to be his and the Cowboys ultimate undoing. For the first time since quarterback Tony Romo went down with an injury, the Cowboys offense had a real heartbeat. The blood finally flowed to All-Pro Dez Bryant as he caught five passes

for 105 yards and a circus-like touchdown. Slot receiver Cole Beasley was also jolted alive this day as he caught his first two touchdowns of the year and gained 112 yards on nine receptions in the process. Also making a strong impression on his return to AT&T Stadium was running back DeMarco Murray, the former Cowboy All-Pro running back the Jones brain trust cast aside this past spring. He came back to his former stomping grounds scoring one touchdown and gaining 161 all-purpose yards against his former teammates.
When you are in the midst of the worst losing streak in over a quarter of a century, it’s easy to blame your defense. But not in this case! The Cowboys D played well enough during regulation to win this game outright. Another ill-advised throw by Cassel ended up in the arms of Philly linebacker Jordan Hicks towards the start of the fourth quarter. He ran the ball back 67 yards for a touchdown. The Cowboys responded with a 76-yard kickoff return by Lucky Whitehead. It eventually led to Bryant’s circuslike 18-yard touchdown catch that was thrown from the Cowboy 35.. After trading off field goals, the most accurate kicker in NFL history, Dan Bailey, clanged one against the goal post to go in with just 2 seconds left in the fourth sending the game to overtime. And just like the New Orleans game three weeks earlier – when ironically linebacker Sean Lee was out of that game with a slight
concussion like he was this one – another unlucky coin toss gave the Eagles the ball to start the fifth period. And just like the Saints game four weeks earlier, the Cowboys would lose this overtime contest in similar fashion. Philly QB Sam Bradshaw found wide receiver Ryan Matthews on a short crossing route and he was able to break free for the end zone when safety Byron Jones slipped down. Game over.

case: for obstruction of justice, a misdemeanor. He originally was charged with two counts of murder but struck a deal with prosecutors in exchange for his testimony against two of his companions that night, Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting. Lewis never directly linked his two friends to the killings, and they were acquitted. Lewis had testified that Oakley, Sweeting and another man had gone to a sporting goods store the previous day to buy knives. Baker’s blood later was found in Lewis’ limo. Having fled the crime scene, Lewis told the limo’s passengers to “keep their mouths shut.” The white suit Lewis was wearing that night — on Super Bowl Sunday — never was found. For his punishment, Lewis received probation for a year and a $250,000 fine by the NFL. Apparently NBC deems domestic abuse a far more serious crime than murder.

Spectre: Bond is Back
“I think you’re just getting started” quips Moneypenny to a deep-rooted Bond, before cueing a smirking reaction from Daniel Craig. And she’s right! Craig has started as Bond! For the first time, he’s playing Bond, not a man searching to become Bond. Craig, a self-confessed Sean Connery nut, teams up again with his ‘Skyfall’ compatriot Sam Mendes to deliver the most aesthetically enjoyable entry since ‘The Living Daylights’ (1987) and the strongest film in the Bond canon since ‘Casino Royale’ (2006). Mercifully rejecting the needless cerebralism of ‘Skyfall’ and the frenetic
testosterone craziness of ‘Quantum of Solace, ‘Spectre’ blends the classic and the modern, a modern example of pop cinema’s finest icon.
Have You Seen This Issue of Enigma?
Mendes has a flair for cinema, his palette and brush covering Bond and beyond. The film’s opening tracking shot recalls Scorsese, a later torture scene in a laboratory echoes Kubrick. Atypical of a Mendes film, the dialogue cracks and whizzes as fast as any of Bond’s bullets. Mendes turns his hand back to the Bond’s of Connery and Moore without the resorting to pastiche. “It was me James, the author of all your pain” pithies ENIGMA

Nehru wearing Christoph Waltz (Franz Oberhauser) as he lets his fallen friend in on their shared history. It’s a chilling moment, contrasted by an enjoyably ludicrous train fight recalled ten minutes earlier. Dave Bautista’s Mr. Hinx must be the most enjoyable henchman in years, his mute but deadly posterior a nice throwback to Harold Sakata’s Oddjob of old. Waltz and Craig are not the only members who impress in this epic. Lea Seydoux impresses with ethereal qualities as resident Bond girl Dr. Madeleine Swan, her French intonation a nice indictment of the worldliness of the series. Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear play their roles with ease, adding comic flourishes to their bumbling administrative personas Harris the most rounded Moneypenny to date, Ralph Fiennes a frentic action hero; if age were not a factor, he could prove a very worthy successor to Craig. Only Monica Bellucci and Andrewe Scott don’t fare so well, the former on screen toof lettingly, the latter unabble to hide his Dublin accent, as embarrassing as Michael Fassbender’s Irish ramblings at the close of ‘X-Men:First Class’ or Pierce Brosnan’s inability to say ‘Bond, James Bond’without resorting to hibernal dictation. Fittingly, the film is the funniest and most lighthearted since ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ (1997), a refreshing change of pace from the moribound introspection the film series has tried to follow since ‘The World Is Not Enough’ (1999), with humour both predictable and knowingly ironic. As
Bond orders his vodka martini, he is informed none are sold in the medical centre they are situated in. A frantic Bond is disapproving of a Moneypenny in bed with another man, an inverted throwback to the days when Naomi Harris’s predecessor Lois Maxwell tut tutted at Bond’s non-scholastic activities. And where Craig was once accused as humourless (‘The Irish Times’ Ed Power has certainly thought so), it is refreshing to see how much fun Craig is having on his fourth outing. After three films of uninterrupted chafing, it is a nice sight to see Craig snigger as he lands from a parachute, or quip as a fallen villain falls from a peak, without resorting to the histrionic camp from the Roger Moore days. A break through a hotel wall, however, proves that he has not lost his finesse for carnage or his uncanny facial similarities to Steve McQueen. The film is not without its detractors. Thomas Newman shamelessly recycles whole musical cues from his previous soundtrack to ‘Skyfall’, something John Barry never did over eleven scores, the film could have lost ten minutes for time purposes and the film’s unsure whether it’s thematically pro or anti Edward Snowden. But It’s a fine example of pop entertainment as good as pop can ever be. If this does indeed prove to be Craig’s final outing,at least he left with a smile very firmly attached to his face! James Bond will be back the end credits promise‘Spectre’proves he never left!
