An SPF 30 does not mean you can stay out twice as long as a 15 – the system was started for the manufacturer. SPF 30 or even 45 you may be able to stay out 10 to 15 minutes longer.

The main thing to use is common sense. Don’t stay out too long and re-apply after swimming.

The U.S. government brings an SPF 15for the armed forces. The extra chemical you put on your skin isn’t worth it. Also the price is crazy when you get the higher SPFs. I suggest you have an open dialog with your current boyfriend or even before that talk with your moth er or someone older you trust and be honest about your feelings.

Dear Rocco, I have been in an on again of again relationship with the love of my life. I love her dearly – more than words can describe but we will go though intense periods of being together and then she will seem disconnected and not want to be around, finding other things to occupy her time. What should I do? DH Dear DH, You are being played for a chump. You are actually the chick in this relationship and not her. Quit being the bitch and get off your ass and tell her exactly how you feel. Get it in the open, rip off the bandage and bleed. You never know, that could be what she’s been waiting for. Otherwise she’s going to go elsewhere to have her needs filled. Dear Rocco, I am 18 and a student. I recently slept with a guy at work and he has not paid attention to me since. I have totally fallen for him. We have known each other since elementary school and he always was shy. Why won’t he speak to me, let alone date me? JP Dear JP,

Congratulations you were used. Despite everything people to day still don’t realize different agendas that males and females have. Why did you sleep with him? What led to the two of you ending up in bed together? There is something more here that what you are saying here. Unless he forced himself on you, which it doesn’t sound like he did since you say he’s shy it seems like there was some agenda on your part in sleeping with him. He of course could be just a jerk and you provided him with a receptacle. You are young use your head not your genitals when dealing with members of the opposite sex.

Antonio Sabato, Jr. You don’t remember him from that television show about those guys doing that thing in that place? It’s okay. No one else remembers him, either… …Michelle just slayed it Monday night in Philly. Her remarks were so heartfelt. She didn’t mention the other party’s nominee one time. She

didn’t need to. Another thing. I’m pretty sure Mrs. O wrote her own speech. She might have had some help. Her husband hires people for that stuff. Smart people. Smarter than the ones who work for the other party’s nominee. I don’t think Michele borrowed any of the words in her speech from Melania T’s speech. But... would it be plagiarism if you stole words from someone whose speechwriter stole them from you? If you picked someone’s pocket... and they had stolen your wallet earlier... would it still be theft? I truly have no idea about the legal precedent for this… …Bill Clinton spoke Tuesday night… and he was good. Of course he was. But he wasn’t Michelle Obama good. Not this week. Hillary’s hubby has a way

of telling stories so well that you forget you’re listening to a “speech.” Bill told great stories about when he met Hil at Yale… how he basically stalked her in the law library… and how she walked up him there and confronted him. It was a great story. Then he skipped ahead a bit to his presidency. There were no stories about “that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” Of course there weren’t. Bill Clinton probably received oral pleasure from that woman. Perhaps he screwed her. But there’s no doubt that George W. Bush screwed just about all of us. But, I digress… …I have wrestled with this for a while, so bear with me. I have some friends in real life and on FB who are “Trump supporters.” I know. It can get embarrassing. They insist they are not misogynists... but they support a candidate who has a long track record of hateful, sexist and just plain rude comments about women. If you’re not racist, but you tolerate and support someone who is... it’s time to have a conversation with yourself. If you don’t hate women personally, but you’re okay with someone who does... you should take a nice, long look in the mirror. The counter argument from some is... “But... but... HILLARY!” Here’s what I hear: “I hate Hillary Clinton so much that I’m willing to vote for a despicable, but wealthy, human being with a documented history of bigotry against anyone who’s not a white male.” If you’re cool with that, that’s

your cross to bear… …In any event, Michelle Obama insists she is not going to run for office herself. Perhaps Barry and Michelle will open up that tshirt shop on the beach (as he keeps insisting he will). I think the Obamas will have a lot of opportunities in the future. As they well should. I hope they don’t open up a rather shady foundation like Bill Clinton did. It does some good work, for sure. But it seems to exist to give Bill private air travel across the globe. I really hope Ms. O reconsiders. She would make a great president. Redneck heads would spin at the prospect of a black woman prez. It would be worth it just for that…

MONEY MANAGEMENT

HOW TO LIVE BELOW YOUR MEANS There are a lot of misconceptions about what it is to live below your means. It’s because people often focus on the cut backs and the lifestyle change versus the huge advantages. In this high-pressure, credit-based, keeping up with the Joneses, gotta-have-it-all-right-now society, living below your means isn’t exactly fun but it is absolutely doable. Below are a few tips that can help you get started on setting some new goals to help pull you out of debt, pay bills on time and still have some change left over to live a comfortable affordable lifestyle. • Challenge Reoccurring Expenses - Take the time to review your overall income, current bills and monthly statements. See where you might ben-

efit from a renegotiation or an assessment of alternate options. For instance, you may be dead set on keeping your cable, but you can still call your cable company (and its competitors) to negotiate a better rate. Not to mention, streaming services like Netflix and Hulu have become a lot more popular these days and are much cheaper to have than cable. Even mundane expenses like your cellphone bill and insurance should be reassessed annually to ensure you’re getting the most appropriate coverage and service for your current circumstances at the best possible value. • Cut Unnecessary Expenses This is a lot easier than you think. Current culture teaches us to spend money on things we

don’t need. We go out and spend money for no other reason than to feed our egos. Buying things gives people a false sense of security as we tend to equate “having stuff” with happiness and stability. I bet if you add up the amount of money you’ve spent over the last 18 months on things such as takeout food, parking, gas, alcohol, and random crap you’ve purchased from Apple, Amazon, or eBay; you’d likely calculate an amount that could have easily been used for a down payment on your first home. Or, in the very least, enough to pay down at least 33% of your debt. It takes skill and determination to go against the tide and buck system that encourages spending but you can do it. It’s all about separating your wants from your needs. • Shop Smarter - As you re-examine your expenses and spending habits think of ways to shop smarter. Adapting a good spending plan can help you gain control of your expenses. Customize your spending habits by writing down how much you usually spend on basic needs such as food and clothing. Most of us shop and make purchases based on our personal preference so all you have to do narrow it down. Create a budget. Clothes and shoes are a necessity but they aren’t necessary to purchase on a monthly basis and neither is takeout food. This alone should free up some cash that should allow you to put away some funds into your savings or pay down on some debt. Make coupons your friend. Take advantage. It’s free money. When you use coupons, you’ll never have to pay full price for anything going forward. You’ll

also began to make smarter purchases. • Pay In Cash - I cut up my credit cards about eight years ago and have never looked back. It was one of the best financial decisions I’ve ever made. It isn’t always easy or immediately gratifying, but adopting a pay-incash lifestyle versus the paywith-credit lifestyle can save you from falling into a debt trap. Credit cards make it too easy to spend money and less able to control money we don’t have. Swiping the card will have you doing a lot of unnecessary spending in the name of bringing home the latest smart phone/accessories/clothes. We don’t think about what the bill will look like later. Most like to use credit cards for purposes of rewards points and tracking spending. What we don’t realize is that the physical aspect of handing over cash to someone else is a lot more difficult than swiping a card. This makes you inclined to spend less and make more affordable purchases. Start paying in cash today. Make it a habit. Once you make this a habit you slowly eliminate debt and soon realize that you are actually saving more money. If you want to live within your means and reach your financial goals, you have to track where your money’s going and learn how to budget better. It’s the only way to nip debt problems in the bud. The more affordable your lifestyle, the more comfortable you are. The more comfortable you are, the happier you will become.

Telfon Hillary and the Betrayal of Justice in America Recently I was intently watching FBI Director James Comey’s news conference where he spoke regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails and multiple private nonsecured servers. Comey elaborated on what seemed to be numerous violations of National Security. At the end of the FBI Director’s prepared statement he gave his opinion that Clinton could not be prosecuted. I felt shocked, outraged sad and mostly betrayed. The e-mails Director Comey was referencing were e-mails Mrs. Clinton had sent and received while she was Secretary of State of the United States. Some were personal and some were business. The problem for Clinton is that since she was conducting business and personal e-mails on the same government owned devices is that made all her e-mails on those devices subject to public record/Clinton seemed to feel that her private e-mails were not public domain and acted accordingly. This would prove to be a big mistake or perhaps miscalculation? Director Comey touched on several points some of which I want to briefly mention. Comey advised many work-related emails were not provided to the FBI. Some were deleted according to Comey by Clinton’s lawyers as the e-mails were

If there was any “scrubbing” of approval. servers to preclude forensic recovery I believe that obviously Comey went on to state there shows intent as there was a was “evidence that they (Clinton and the people she was sending and receiving e-mails to and from) were “extremely careless in their handling of sensitive and extremely classified information”. If you are the Secretary of Sate shouldn’t you be very careful not extremely careless with sensitive/classified information? Again let me discuss intent. If someone is careless with a gun or vehicle and injures someone even though there is much would be made of a “lack deliberate act. If not directly by no intent the person could be of intent”. I believe that the Clinton, then by her hirelings at charged with reckless endangerdestruction of possible incrimi- her request or with her ment or in the event of death nating evidence shows intent. Let me interject here that I was a police officer for approximately 32 years. For eleven years I was a burglary/ robbery Detective. I presented many cases to Grand Juries and testified in Sessions Court on many cases and sometimes in Criminal Court. So I have a very good understanding of what it takes to present a case and show intent. deemed personal. How is it that a potential defendant’s lawyers get to determine what is possible evidence and delete it? Later

If that wasn’t enough Comey went on to state that it was “likely” other work related emails were deleted by Clinton lawyers and the servers “scrubbed” so as to “preclude complete forensic recovery.” ENIGMA

criminally negligent homicide. Yet if a Secretary of State recklessly mishandles information that could be used by “hostile actors” in physical or cyber attacks then there is nothing criminally wrong with that?

be some punishment? Especially if it’s for your convenience. It is inconceivable to me that Mrs. Clinton escaped prosecution and so far no type of reprimand or rebuke. It was brought out by Director Comey that Mrs. Clinton had lied numerous times regarding different aspects of the email investigation. Sadly our society seems so morally bankrupt that people are willing to overlook these lies and breaches of security because the perpetrator is the candidate of choice for a political party. Another issue brought out in this e-mail investigation was that Mrs. Clinton had told the American public that the Benghazi Embassy attack was caused by an inflammatory anti-Muslim video. However e-mails were found that Clinton had sent to

Later Comey addressed the sensitive / classified e-mails which were on Clinton’s unsecured server/s by saying “none of these e-mails should have been on any kind of unclassified system.” He said “their presence is especially concerning.” I would call that very gracious. I don’t believe having classified material involving national security on unsecured servers is just “concerning”. I believe it borders on treasonous. The director seems to support my belief as he further added, “But even if information is not marked classified in an e-mail participants who know or should know that the subject matter is classified are still obligated to protect it.” So even if Mrs. Clinton’s claims that these e-mails were not marked classified is true some of the information was classified and was being sent and received on nonsecure servers, shouldn’t the Secretary of State know what information is classified or not? However, one would also think

the Secretary of State would only send/receive sensitive or classified information on secured servers. Mrs. Clinton has frequently said she had these servers set up for “convenience”. If you are a Government official in a highranking position and you have unsecured servers set up so you can send and receive personal and government business emails thereby jeopardizing national security shouldn’t there

two different people stating the attack was terrorism. Perhaps this is a crime. Perhaps not. However, a government official blatantly lying to the American people and the world should be considered reprehensible. Yet the perpetrator of this lie is a candidate for President. I was deeply disappointed in my government when Director Comey announced “his” decision to not even take the case before a Federal Grand Jury. I don’t believe it was his place to decide to not prosecute. I had heard several commentators say prior to the announcement that they felt Director Comey was a “straight shooter” and would handle the investigation impartially. I fear we all forgot that he is a career FBI official and that his decision to attempt to prosecute the case would most likely be career suicide.

conference by Director Comey there was a meeting of former President Bill Clinton and the United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The meeting was erroneously labeled a “chance encounter” after news of the meeting was leaked after the fact. A chance encounter of a U.S. Attorney General and the wife of a person under investigation by the Federal Bureau Of Investigation? I think enough is said on that. However, Hillary not being prosecuted has set off an undercurrent of resentment in many people.

I witnessed this on a small scale at a local McDonald’s restaurant. As news of Mrs. Clinton being endorsed by Bernie Sanders was being shown on a television there an obviously disgruntled person began an angry and loud denouncement of Hillary A few days prior to the press Clinton. He basically said that

hacked from the Democratic National Committee. One theory advanced by some spokesman was that the hackers were Russian. Really? Going back to blaming the Russians? Reminds me of a line from a Warren Zevon song “I went home with a waitress the way I always do. How was I to know she was with I’ve heard it said that the the Russians too?” It would be appearance of impropriety is humorous if it weren’t so preimpropriety. I as well as many posterous. Americans are disappointed by the lack of prosecution of Mrs. Even though I am disappointed I Clinton as it appears some are am still proud to be an truly “above the law”. Others American. I hope I always will were surprised while others just be. Call me idealistic. I thought considered it our government I lived in a country where justice sliding further into a moral wins out. Maybe we need to temporarily omit “and Justice” abyss. from the Pledge of Allegiance as Sadly I realize many are just apparently some are “above the happy their candidate was not law”. There is still liberty for all but sadly I no longer believe indicted. there is justice for all. As I write this a new e-mail ‘scandal’ is being publicized - Mark Haskins regarding e-mails allegedly her illegal actions with no punishment would allow him and others to commit crimes with no fear of consequences. He had everyone’s attention. Many people verbally agreed or nodded their agreement. One person told him, “No your name’s not Clinton. ”

Donald Trump Gets On TV And Asks Russia to Release The Hacked Clinton Emails - Hilarious!

Chattanooga is home of the actions that generated the first Medals of Honor to six of Andrew's Raiders. The museum traces the “Paths of Valor” from the Civil War through the War on Terror. Discover the stories of nearly 3,500 recipients of our Nation's highest award for Valor. Donald Trump in true Trump Form did one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard of in a speech made for TV. He asked the Russian Intelligent Service to release all of the emails they hacked from Hillary Clinton’s private illegal email servers during her term as Secretary of State under the Obama Administration. I almost rolled on the floor laughing my tight ‘runner bubble butt’ tushy buns off. So why did Donald Trump make such an outlandish comment which should have been reserved for late-night TV com-

edy? It’s simple really, let me explain.

National Medal of Honor Museum of Military History

You see, after watching the DNC host speaker after speaker trashing The Donald’s integrity, he’d probably had enough of that noise. While calling Trump a hater, all the speakers at the DNC could spew was hate and venom of their own. They called Hillary Clinton everything but a Saint of the Catholic Church, and called into question Trump’s trustworthiness, judgement and integrity, never of course mentioning Hillary’s

were obviously not amused with Donald’s simple comment which made ALL of their negative comments about his character seem like “Black Kettle Pot” calling and “Chicken Little” political rhetoric and pandering to the lowest common denominator of their blind following base.

In the ultimate “Strawman Argument” and Seventh Grade Level debate tactic style - the Democrats and their media pundits suggested that Trump’s joke was no joke, that he was actually serious. Of course the Democrats, nor the media offered any excuse for Hillary’s bad judgement or illegal use of classified material or even the fact that she’s not allowed to by-pass secured data communication with a home server in the first place. The DNC members didn’t see the humor, and

The fact is that the Russians, and other hackers did get all of Clinton’s Emails, so even if she erased them so the Justice Department couldn’t see what she and the Clinton Foundation are doing, or the global corruption taking place - those emails exist and our enemies have them and can use them as a way to bribe Hillary and Bill if Hillary is elected president, and there is enough proof of corruption there to not only send the Clinton’s to the slammer, but to jeopardize our

Winning Despite Losing CFC’s Championship Run Ends in the Semi-Finals with a 2-1 Loss to Sonoma But That Shoudn’t Damper Anyone’s Spirit

The loss brings an end to a phenomenal season for the CFC who were South region champions. The Southern champion CFC finished the season 14-3-3. Congratulations CFC on another great season. CFC has a lot to be proud of. Since its inception in 2009 there has always been a formidable team on field winning a majority of matches and making serious runs in the playoffs. 2016 was another banner season that saw the team remain undefeated at home until Saturday's loss to Sonoma. 2017 can only get better as CFC will definitely keep their winning tradition going. ©Dave Weinthal

Oh so close. The Chattanooga Football Club (CFC), winners of the South Region saw their championship run come to an end Sunday at Finley Stadium as they fell to visiting Sonoma Sol 2-1. The Beautiful World of Mudcrutch

I guess you can go home again. That’s what Tom Petty has done and he’s done it well. A packed house at the Tabernacle witnessed Petty before he was a Heartbreaker as his first band before superstardom. Before the Heartbreakers there was Mudcrutch. A little over nine years ago Petty got the old band back together again and with fine results. Truth be told, how would you expect anything else about Tom Petty?

Petty without a doubt is what American rock and roll is all about. It’s about real music, nothing trendy fad-related or flavor of the month. Petty whether it be with the Heartbreakers, Mudcrutch or even Traveling Wilburys was all about a simple, not overcomplicated textures and straight ahead. Like the proverbial blue blazer, Tom Petty never goes out of style.
