Job Posting: Training and drop-in co-coordinator

Description The Peer Support Program of the Centre for Gender Advocacy seeks a training and drop-in cocoordinator. We seek someone who will be responsible for the scheduling and coordination of volunteer training for Peer Support in 2015-16. This person will also be responsible for volunteer staffing and ongoing peer support during drop-in hours at the Centre. The position is for 10 (ten) months, from August 3rd 2015 through May 27th 2016 (with possibility of renewal), 15 hours/week, including one evening every two weeks. The salary is 18$/hour. There is a 3 months' probation period (with benefits). CV and cover letter must be sent by Monday, June 29 at 5pm, confirmation for interviews will be sent out by July 8th and interviews will be held the week of July 13th. Responsibilities and Tasks: • Schedule volunteers for drop-in hours • Staff the Centre during drop-in hours • Offer peer support as needed • Guide and support volunteers • Help with the preparation of the training schedule • Help identify and schedule workshop facilitators • Book and follow up with workshop facilitators • Book space and ensure logistical support for facilitators • Register new volunteer and follow up on their attendance • Participate in the promotion of training • Set up and restore, as necessary, space used for training • Organise and facilitate active listening practices for volunteers • Organize volunteer appreciation events • Create training material as needed • Work in collaboration with the Peer support and trans advocacy coordinator and the program interns Requirements: • Experience within an intersectional feminist framework based on empowerment, self-determination and harm-reduction • Autonomous • Non-directive peer support experience • Active listening training and experience • Functional bilingualism.
