LIFeGuARd INSTRuCTOR CLASS

The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Courses. Participants who successfully complete all course requirements will receive a nationally recognized Lifeguard Instructor Certification. Prerequisites:

u u u This award-winning Blended Learning Course requires an online component of the course to be completed prior to the first day of class Students must be at least seventeen years of age by the last day of class Students must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and be able to complete the following skills: multiple rescuer CPR response and deep submerged rescue, extrication, and CPR scenario

The purpose of this course is to satisfy the recertification requirements for participants who are currently certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors. Prerequisites:

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with a Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certification in addition to a CPR/First Aid/AeD Certification.

When you take a first aid class from the American Red Cross, you’ll gain skills necessary to help others during times of crisis. Designed to last just a few short hours, our first aid classes can help you recognize the signs that someone needs help and administer the right type of care.

Blended Learning: Featuring award-winning simulation learning, our blended learning programs combine selfpaced, interactive instruction and in-person skills sessions. This Blended Learning Course allows you to learn on your schedule, then demonstrate your skills to a certified instructor. Prerequisites:

BABYSITTING + PedIATRIC CPR CLASSeS

The course provides aspiring babysitters with the knowledge and skill set necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. This training helps participants develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and others safe; help children behave; and learn the basics of childcare and first aid. This course will also certify participants who meet the requirements in pediatric first aid and CPR. Prerequisite:

u Students must be between the ages of eleven and fifteen.

The Cherokee Youth Basketball Summer League is a basketball program designed to help promote the game of basketball during the off season. This league will help participants learn to score and play defense in a fast-paced environment.

u u u u u each team consist of five players. Three players from each team compete in half court play. Twelve-minute clocks allow for two games per night. each player receives a uniform and an eight-game schedule. Games are held in a variety of gymnasiums throughout the county.

The Cherokee Youth Lacrosse program is a member of the Metro Atlanta Youth Lacrosse Association (MAYLA). Children between the ages of five and fourteen are encouraged to participate. The season will consist of regular practice sessions and eight regular season games—four at home and four away. Participants are asked to register in accordance with the high school district in which they live.
