Cherokee Recreation and Parks is proud to host a variety of archery programs—the fastest growing sport in the southeast. Whether you’re a well-seasoned archer or new to the sport, our engaging programs are sure to hit your target. All archery events are held at the Recreation Center. If you’ve never picked up a bow and arrow but want to see what the hype is about, this is your chance. This single day event will introduce you to the very basic skills of archery. Space is limited. Session 1: Friday, May 21 (register between February 1 and May 21) Session 2: Friday, August 20 (register between February 1 – August 19) Time: 6:30 p.m. Ages: All ages are welcome Cost: $10 per participant per class u Explore Archery

This five-week course is an innovative educational program focused on introducing the novice to the sport of archery. All skill levels are welcome. hIKING

Cherokee County has some of the most beautiful hiking opportunities in Metro Atlanta. Our group hikes will introduce participants to a handful of locations. All ages are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by a paying adult participant. Snacks and water will be provided.

GARLANd MOuNTAIN dAY hIKe

Join us for a beautiful morning hike (approximately three to four miles) as we take on the natural beauty of the Appalachian foothills. Registration: February 1 – April 16 Date: Saturday, April 17 Time(s): 10:00 a.m. Location: Garland Mountain horse and hiking Trails Cost: $10 per participant

LITTLe RIveR KAYAK RuN

Please join us as we take a kayaking run from Olde Rope Mill Park to the Little River Marina! Snacks and water will be provided. Registration: February 1 – May 12 Date: Saturday, May 15 Time(s): 9:00 a.m. Location: Little River Marina Ages: All ages are welcome (minors must be accompanied by a paying adult) Cost: $40 includes kayak rental $15 if you bring your own kayak

NIGhT hIKe

Try something new! hike through the trails of Lewis Park at night (approximately 1.5 miles) to add an extra layer of excitement to the adventure. Snacks and water will be provided. Registration: February 1 – March 4 Date: Friday, March 5 Time(s): 6:30 p.m. Location: Lewis Park Cost: $10 per participant
