• Do not discuss details of your trip with strangers. • Arrive early at the airport. • Hand carry any valuables (electronics, money, jewelry, credit cards). • Stay with your luggage until it is checked. • Limit personal information on your luggage tags. • Sit only in your airplane’s assigned seat. • Plan transportation to your hotel before arriving. • Leave your flight information with a family member. • If your travel plans change let your family know. • Call family or friends when you have arrived at your destination.

While at the hotel… • Lock your vehicle and take all valuables with you to your room. • When checking into the hotel, review the floor plan on the back of your room door, and familiarize yourself with fire and emergency exits. • Always lock your door using the deadbolt.

• Do not display large amounts of money. Place small amounts in different pockets, or use credit cards or traveler’s checks. • Make copies of your credit cards front and back, and place them in a secured place with your records (room safe). This can be very useful if you need to report a lost or stolen card. • When you return to your hotel, use the main entrance. • Be wary of solicitors. • Use reputable places of business for all your entertainment transactions. • Travel in pairs or groups when possible. • Always have a meeting place for your children to meet you if separated. • Small children should always be lead by the hand near busy streets. • Small children should have their name and phone number placed on

their clothes label, or the inside of a shoe flap, with a permanent marker, in case they are lost. • Use sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
