Cover Feature Ihu’s Breakaway Falls Takes Waterslide Thrills to New Heights... This summer, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls™ - the tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide of its kind in Orlando – is something you must experience at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark™. Riders climb 126 steps to the top of the eight-story tower (nearly 80 feet), stepping into one of three colorful breakaway boxes. Watch a SpaceX Rocket Launch into Space... Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex guests can experience the stunning sights and powerful sounds of a launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with two exclusive launch viewing locations from which to choose. On April 13, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will send the Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS). This is the sixth of 14 resupply missions by SpaceX for NASA, delivering food and supplies, including new science experiments and technology research, to the crew aboard the ISS. The Visitor Complex will offer launch viewing from the Apollo/Saturn V Center, located within the secured areas of Kennedy Space Center, as well as bleacher seating or an open lawn viewing area near Space Shuttle AtlantisSM located in the main Visitor Complex. Each of the locations offers thrilling viewing experiences for any SpaceX launch. The Apollo/Saturn V Center is located within Kennedy Space Center and is approximately eight miles from Space Launch Complex 37. The viewing area features an open lawn and bleacher section overlooking the scenic Banana River. The area includes live launch commentary, food and retail available for purchase, and indoor restroom facilities. Located at the main Visitor Complex, viewing adjacent to Space Shuttle Atlantis is included in daily admission. The viewing area is approximately seven miles from the launch pad and offers guests a view of the rocket once it clears the tree line. Bleacher seating, an open lawn viewing area and live launch commentary are provided. Launch dates, times and viewing locations are subject to change. Orlando City Soccer Opens New Downtown Stadium Orlando City Soccer officially cut the ribbon on February 24, 2017, opening the new downtown stadium. Many city officials and Orlando City executives that made the stadium possible were there, including Mayor Buddy Dyer, Majority Owner Flavio Augusto da Silva, Mayor Teresa Jacobs, and Parramore City Commissioner Regina Hill. With the Orlando City and Orlando Pride banners hung over the west side entrance, these community leaders came together to cut the ribbon and welcome the new home of the team to the community. The Mayor of Orange County, Teresa Jacobs, spoke about the early days of stadium development. She noted that da Silva was able to see something in Orlando City fans before fans filled Camping World Stadium for their first MLS match. He believed in them, and they pulled through. The event was a warm introduction to the Orlando City Stadium. Citizens of the community, as well as staff and media, were allowed to walk around and see what has finally come into being. Next week, we’ll welcome the fans and the entire city of Orlando. Orlando City’s downtown stadium is a 100% privately funded project and home to Orlando City, Orlando Pride, and OCB.
