Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure combines a new level of storytelling and innovative coaster technology with rich environments and sets – including an actual forest with more than 1,200 live trees. It will also give guests the unique opportunity to join Hagrid – one of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter films – on a journey to one of the most mysterious places in the wizarding world – the Forbidden Forest. With Hagrid as their guide, guests will fly deep into the Forbidden Forest and brave the mysteries and thrills beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle on a groundbreaking coaster experience unlike any other. Guests will either ride the motorcycle or board the adjacent sidecar as they embark on a journey that will bring them closer to some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures. But as they make their way through the Forbidden Forest… things don’t go as planned... Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Florida Attractions History Central Florida Through the Years... Orlando and Central Florida are known globally as the Theme Park Capital of the World. The rich history of tourism, amusements, and entertainment in the area has a longstanding history spanning far before Walt Disney World opened in 1971. Beginning as early as the mid-1800s, only wealthy or famous people could afford to travel to Florida to enjoy the natural beauty, coral reefs, fishing, sandy beaches, everglades, warm weather, and some even to recover from illnesses.
Silver Springs began glass-bottom boat tours in 1878
Beginning around 1850, tourists would sail the Silver Springs on steamships that traveled the springs moving supplies and crops and eventually exclusively tourists. Considered the first attraction in Florida, in 1878, Silver Springs State Park began offering glass bottom boat tours, allowing riders to see clearly deep into the sparkling waters of the area’s natural springs. With the invention of the automobile and widespread use in the 1920s, travel became easier and therefore
rolling hills of beautifully landscaped native and exotic plants. It was also known for its water ski shows and eventually touted as the Water Ski Capital of the World. The park closed in 2003 and was bought by LEGOLAND in 2010. Areas of the gardens are still displayed at LEGOLAND and a tribute to the historic water ski shows is still performed by LEGO Pirate characters. The Weeki Wachee Springs roadside attraction was founded in 1947 by Newton Perry, a former US Navy man. Perry discovered an underwater breathing method using a free-flowing air hose supplying oxygen. He Weeki Wachee Springs opened as a roadside attraction in 1947 trained beautiful “mermaids” to perform synchronized ballet moves underwater while secretly using the breathing method - appearing to be real mermaids. Today, you can still watch the mermaid shows from the underwater theater. Now known as the Alligator Capital of the World, Gatorland opened in 1949 by Owen Godwin and his wife Pearl. It opened with alligators, snakes, a Native American Village, and Bone Crusher, the “Largest Crocodile In The World”. Florida’s first and longest continuously operating ride opened in 1965 – The Gatorland Express Train. Today the park features thrilling ziplining over hundreds of alligators, rare white alligator exhibits, a splash park, animal exhibits, shows, and alligator wrestling.

Tours of the Cape Canaveral’s Space Shuttle launch sites began in 1963 with a driving tour on Sunday afternoons. Tourists could drive by shuttle launch pads and launch operations center facilities and observe from their personal vehicles. In January 1966, public bus tours were offered to include the Kennedy Space Center, the location of all of NASA’s space flights and launch operations. The Visitor Information Center opened in 1967 spanning 42 acres and featuring exhibits, theaters, and replicas of hardware. In 1997, the Apollo / Saturn V center opened, which was the first time a major exhibit was opened within a restricted area. The most famous theme park in Orlando, Walt Disney World opened in 1971. Today, the original theme park, Magic Kingdom Park, is the most popular theme park in the world with over 17 million visitors annually. Walt Disney World has expanded and today features EPCOT (1982), Disney’s Hollywood Studios (1989), Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park (1998), Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (1995), Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park (1989), popular ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (1997), shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, Disney Springs (1975), two mini-golf courses, WinterlandSummerland (1999) and Fantasia Gardens (1996), October 1, 1971 - Opening Day four golf courses at Walt Disney World
SeaWorld theme park and marine zoological park opened shortly thereafter in 1973. Originally, they opened with aquatic animal exhibits and trained whale shows. Over time, they expanded to host amusement rides, and roller coasters in addition to the shows and animal displays. Discovery Cove opened in 2000, a private resort style park featuring swimming with dolphins and other marine animals. In 2008 SeaWorld Orlando opened the 59-acre Aquatica Waterpark featuring the Dolphin Plunge water slides. Universal Studios Orlando is the newest of the major Orlando theme parks, opening in 1990. Visitors can “Ride the Movies” in this film industry themed park. In 1999, Universal’s City Walk opened, Universal’s

shopping, dining, entertainment and nightlife district based on Hollywood’s CityWalk. Universal’s Islands of Adventure also opened in 1999. Islands of Adventure is composed of eight “islands” themed to various forms of adventures. Additionally, they host eight hotels operated by Loews Hotels. Volcano Bay, Universal Orlando’s water park opened in 2016. In 2010, the popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter was added to the Islands of Adventure theme park which expanded to include Hogsmeade at Universal Studios in 2014. In 2019, it was announced that a third theme park called Universal’s Epic Universe will be built just a few miles down the road from the Universal complex. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge features signature attractions that turn those dreams into reality. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most ambitious attractions ever created for a Disney park. The thrilling action takes place in massive sets that give guests the feeling of stepping inside a Star Wars film, as they elude the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order in a mad dash through a Star Destroyer.
