In the publishing industry, as in the event industry, when you witness inventiveness and artistry, you want to be part of it. Loose floral arrangements continue to make a big splash. The organic, unstructured feel is simply beautiful. Flowers are making their way back to the center of attention, and bigger centerpieces, floral chandeliers, bouquets and more abound this year.

And, like marriage, wedding dress shopping is all about finding “the one.” From the neckline and silhouette to the fabric and style, the choices are limitless. Let’s look at the silhouettes and details that will flatter your body type, and ensure you look and feel absolutely beautiful on your big day. ATHLETIC Show off your toned physique with highlighting style lines like a low back, a delicate halter top neckline or one shoulder sleeve. Also, to soften your shape, look for dresses with drapery and smooth silky fabrics, like floating sheer overlays.
APPLE Look for gowns with asymmetry! Angular details can be a wonder for creating shape, and if you want a gown to give you those defined curves, asymmetrical pleating and ruching can create that illusion for you. ENJOY 11

TALL With long legs, go for high-slit hemlines or styles that have cascading layers, like a high-low skirt. The playful hems will keep you from looking too column-like, giving your shape dimension rather than just height.
STRAIGHT Anything goes! If you are wanting to add some curves, try on gowns with waist peplum details and tulle gathers, or cut into your straight form with sheer panel illusions or sculpted seaming.

Stick to fabrics that lay closer to the body—the bigger the dress, the smaller you will look. Try a lace fit to flair.
HOURGLASS You have two choices: flaunt your curves or your waist line. Show off the curves of your bust and bum with a mermaid or fit-to-flair gown paired with a sweetheart neckline, or try an A-line skirt ball gown to elongate your shape by drawing attention up to your waist.
PLUS Try gowns that enhance all the right places. Open necklines like a deep V or boat neck are perfect ways to highlight bust and shoulders while still providing support, and gowns with twisted gathers and ruching narrow your waistline while flattering. ENJOY 13

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION After the initial excitement of your engagement starts to set in a little, you will likely find yourself immediately thinking about two things: when and where? Both play a role in one of the most important aspects of your wedding: the venue. Finding the right place to be married is an incredibly personal decision, and should directly reflect the setting in which the two of you desire to say “I do.” But it is also wise to consider your guests. WEIGHING ALL YOUR OPTIONS Every venue has different offerings, and these individual aspects should ultimately make their way onto your pros and cons list. While weighing your options, find the venue which ultimately offers the most “pros” within your budget.
RELATIONSHIP MATTERS Meeting with the owners of the venue and their staff should be a positive experience that leaves you feeling excited about the possibility of working with them. Look for venue owners who have a focus on relationship and good communication.
CONSIDER MORE THAN ONE Even if you are certain that you know where you want to get married, consider multiple venues. Often, couples think they have found the perfect place but end up going with another location that surprised them and they ended up liking more.
THE BUDGET Don’t hesitate to talk money. The ultimate goal is to get as many of your needs met as possible within your budget. Venue owners are happy to discuss how their venue can meet your needs and should have clear pricing for you to consider when making your decision.
ALWAYS ASK ABOUT MUSIC Finding a quality DJ is key, so getting good referrals from the venue owners will give you an inside track on what DJs have previously worked at the venue, impressed the owners and did a good job. Some venues have policies in regard to sound and may want to recommend a DJ who is aware of these rules and able to comply.
ALWAYS HAVE A “PLAN B” When you are selecting the venue for your wedding, ensure that you discuss a Plan B with the owners. What happens if there is a sudden shift in the weather? Is there an indoor option? What is the worst-case scenario going to be? All of these questions and more should be considered.

SHOW SOME STYLE Look for ways to make the food fun, unique and different. Passing appetizers or offering finger foods can make your reception stand out – see if you can incorporate a theme into the food that matches the theme of your reception.
