Fort Stanton Established in 1855, Fort Stanton may be one of the most intact 19th-century military forts in the country and is the best-preserved fort in New Mexico. Found just outside the town of Lincoln and surrounded by the Lincoln National Forest, the 240-acre site is best known for its roles in the Indian Wars and the Civil War. Lunch TBA. Lincoln Historic Site preserves numerous historical buildings much as they were during one of the most violent periods of New Mexico history. President Rutherford B. Hayes called Lincoln’s main street “the most dangerous street in America.” In this quiet one-street village, New Mexico History Tours participants can stroll in the footsteps of Sheriff Pat Garrett, Billy the Kid, and other famous and infamous characters involved in the Lincoln County War, 1878-1881. HISTORICAL ADVENTURES WITH ENMU-RUIDOSO Make history come alive with Living History Tours in historic Lincoln County! Jack Shuster is degreed in History with a field of interest in Social and Cultural History of the American People. A Living Historian and Reenactor, Jack will take you back in history to the first residents of the area and how they lived and bring you through history to the present day. HOME & GARDEN Rainwater Harvesting/Management System Design The course will cover steps in reducing treated water use, design, installation and use various rainwater harvesting and gray water usage systems for businesses and residences, and development of a rainfall and gray water usage plan for your property. The Missions of the Hondo Valley A tour, of the Roman Catholic Missions formed in the 1800s to serve rural communities in the Ruidoso and Hondo River Valleys of New Mexico. These will include missions that stretch from San Ysidro in Glencoe to San Jose in Picacho, all rich in paintings, hand carved Santos and more. Some interesting graveyards, too. Some of these missions lasted longer that others but as times changed and transportation by automobile eclipsed horses and wagon, they were all merged into Saint Jude Thaddeus Mission in San Patricio in 1967. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Alcohol Server The New Mexico Liquor Control Act Mandates that every liquor license, lessee or server who manages, directs or controls the sale or service of alcohol for consumption on or off the license premises must satisfactorily complete an alcohol server program every five years. Our class provides all the state required training and covers all state laws and regulations concerning the sale and service of alcohol, liquor liability issues and driving under the influence of alcohol.
