THE HEARST TOWER IS LOCATED AT 300 W 57th ST. NEW YORK, NY 10019 ON 8TH AVENUE NEAR COLUMBUS CIRCLE. IT IS THE HOME OF THE HEARST CORPORATION WHERE MAGAZINES LIKE COSMOPOLITAN AND SEVENTEEN ARE PUBLISHED. COMPLETED 2006

HISTORY
INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE BUILDING ORIGINALLY A SIX STORY BUILDING AND COMPLETELY IN 1928 AT ALL TOTAL COST OF $2 MILLION. THE CAST STONE FACADE HAS BEEN KEPT AS PART OF THE DESIGN OF THE HEARST TOWER ENABLING THE SIX STORY STRUCTURE TO MAINTAIN ITS LANDMARK HISTORY. IT WAS ALSO ORIGINIALLY MEANT TO BE THE BASE OF A POTENTIAL FUTURE SKYSCRAPER. THE BASE WAS KNOWN AS THE INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE BUILDING.
