The adoption, in 1995, of an ambitious digital technology strategy, changed the face of Issy-les-Moulineaux.
From children to seniors, 85% of the population is connected to the Internet (against 71% for the rest of France). Technology has been at the service of Issy's inhabitants for a long time! The City's digital strategy is characterised by a global approach. Since the beginning, all municipal services were asked to think about potential utilisations of new technologies. These efforts were made within a steering committee to avoid scattering the initiatives.
From infrastructures to reinforcing local democracy, from fighting the digital divide to modernising administration or developing mobile services, media and information technologies are turning Issy-les-Moulineaux into a successful example of a digital city. ■
