Financial Aid SUPERVISOR Teresa M. Vasquez, director CONTACT INFORMATION 260-480-4136 tvasquez4@ivytech.edu Ivy Tech Financial Aid WHERE TO FIND US Student Life Center–SL118 (North Campus) WHAT WE DO • Our end goal is to have financial aid processed and ready before classes begin. That allows students to have books available and be 100 percent devoted to their academic studies. • We process all federal, state, institutional, and outside scholarships for incoming and current students. We recommend several external and internal scholarship opportunities to students. • We ensure that all Title IV funds are awarded and disbursed according to federal guidelines to eligible students. • We assist Express Enrollment Center staff with verification requirements that students must complete online. • Understand that audit and compliance issues must be followed. We work with students to provide support, so they are able to fully concentrate in the classroom. • We process all loan requests submitted through the online loan application process. • We are the primary contact for all SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) appeal questions. The SAP committee meets on a weekly basis to review both academic and financial aid appeals. • Students with financial aid questions should be directed to the Express Enrollment Center (SL117) first. Student Services Professionals there are available to help with general questions. Student Services Professionals will direct students to financial aid staff when they are unable to resolve students’ issues. • Sometimes there is confusion by students that the Express Enrollment Center and the Office of Financial Aid are the same areas. They are not. We are the processing center for all financial aid information received by the College. The Express Enrollment Center assists students with data entry into their applications (e.g., completing FAFSAs online, completing loan applications online, creating federal student IDs, assisting students with tax transcript downloads). These are just a few functions of the Express Enrollment Center. Working as a partner with the Express Enrollment Center, we assist in processing applications as they are received and students are registered for classes. • Information sharing is key to student success. We want to know when things are working and when they are not. This allows us to review processes and implement changes when necessary.
