DISPATCHES Vol. 9
Costco Hits the Links Golfers know Kirkland Signature. Costco’s own brand made a splash a few years ago with the launch of its Kirkland Signature golf ball, which received rave reviews among golf enthusiasts for its performance but also for its affordable price. The retailer late last year took that trust even further by rolling out its first ever golf clubs — a set of three wedges and a putter. Reportedly, the items have been tough to keep in stock. Equally notable though, in the land of pallet displays, Costco merchandises its golf equipment with a little extra flair.
Costco stacks its boxes of Kirkland Signature golf balls right at the endcap, a tower of silver that can’t be missed walking the wide aisles. The Kirkland Signature golf gloves were in a branded corrugated case on an equipment shelf.
A walk through a Costco in Niles, Ill., found the Kirkland Signature KS1 Putter in an interesting corrugated case that leveraged a big bold graphic on the back that called out the new equipment. The front of the display lined up the sleek putter packages in the display case. 38

The wedge set includes three wedges, a gap, sand and lob wedge for $160 total — a true value — and were recently approved for play by the USGA. The wedges were spotted in a store in Tampa Bay, Fla.
